　　My father had done it this time around. How could he say those things to me? I knew Desiree didn't want to go yet, but I did not see any other option. The odds were stacked up against us. I did not have the power to fight my father, nor did I have the will to do so. If not, I would have overthrown him and returned everyone's life to normal. Back to when all we had was an Alpha. Trying to force Lola on me was low, and I wouldn't have it.


　　I walked Desiree back to her apartment, and she wasn't worried. Not once did I feel her uneasiness, and I was glad.


　　"Hope what my father said did not trouble you?" I asked her, and she crashed her lips on mine, immediately asking me to take her through the mind link. It was unusual behaviour, but I liked it because I became hard as hell.
