CHAPTER 77

  GRACE

Staring at the door as Walter leaves I turn back and glare at Ella and Emmett. “You don’t know what you are asking of me,” I tell her with my voice sounding strained. “I have been bound by the covens not to speak the names of those members.”

“You have been bound by magic or by your word,” Ella asks me.

“For a witch they are the same thing,” I reply angrily. “I think you should go.”

Walking to the front door I open it and gesture for them to leave. Ella pulls on her coat and places her hand on my shoulder. Leaning in she places a small kiss on my cheek but does not say a word as she leaves. Emmett nods to me silently as he follows Ella out of the house. Watching silently from the front porch of the cabin, Ella wraps her coat around her and lifts her hood over her head before she and Emmett disappear into the night.
