CHAPTER 5 Isaiah

It didn’t take long for the party to get going. My mother spared no expense on making the yard look fantastic. Somehow she made it look like an outdoor night club. I was impressed. After greeting the Alphas and their entourage I was finally free to grab a drink.

I wasn’t really here to enjoy the party. Just make an appearance and leave. This was mostly for Isabella. I had my plans on either finding a mate or making Zira mine. Though my wolf Devon would disagree with the latter. He’s always growling his disapproval when I’m with other women, saying I should only want to be with my mate. Apparently my body doesn’t feel the same way.

Then I met Victoria some months ago. We bonded over a few video games I let her win. She's cool but every time we get close to going further than making out, here comes Isa. Literally every time. She spends more time with Victoria than I do. Then I realized it was more than that. My sister had a crush on my girl. It figures we had the same taste in women being twins and all.

"Dude, I'm drowning out here," Hunter complained, shooing off another girl wanting to dance. "The girls from the other packs are beautiful and more willing."

Here comes the playboy of the ball. We've been friends since we were pups and even then he was a player for the ladies. Trading kisses for sandbox entries as a kid. I feel for any mate destined for him. I don't think the bond will be enough to keep him monogamous, even if it's the moon goddess herself.

"Alright man, take your pick before I start the hunt," Hunter started taking a shot with me. "Cause once I let loose there won't be a girl left to conquer."

"It truly amazes me that that THING hasn't fallen off, yet."

"It comes with a warranty, my friend. Besides I’ve been prepping this bad boy for this very special moment. I can feel a wild night including at least three girls," Hunter said, scanning the dance floor for the next unlucky target.

I took another shot from the bar to try to clear my head. On that note I heard my mother yelling and pushing my sister towards the yard. Oh how she loves to make an entrance. Then a faint smell of apples and cinnamon passed my nose. I turned towards the scent and my mouth almost fell open.

Standing next to my angry sister was Zira. She was wearing a drop dead gorgeous red halter dress that matched perfectly with her dark caramel skin and hugged her curves in the right way. Her hair was twisted up into a fluffy bun with a sparkling ringlet around the base. Her lips were covered in something that gave them a bit of a shine. My eyes moved from her lips to a gorgeous necklace that sat perfectly above her chest. She looked-

“Holy shit! Look at Zira,” Hunter whispered behind me, interrupting my thoughts.

I was glad he didn’t see my face as I tried to recover. “Stop drooling playboy.”

“What? Why not drool? She looks appetizing,” Hunter said, licking his lips.

Although I hated the way Hunter was looking at Zira, I couldn’t help but agree. She looked good enough to bite. After a while, Isabella and Zira made their way over to us with a few catcalls and howls following them. My sister looked as if she wasn’t fazed by any of it, while Zira was visibly embarrassed. It was cute.

“Nothing but a yard full of immature boys. How does our mother expect me to find a mate with these weak options,” Isabella huffed about.

“Come on Isa. There has to be someone here who fits your standards,” Zira said looking around at all the party goers.

Then her eyes connected with mine. I wanted to look away so she couldn’t tell I was staring at her. She quickly looked away, which I probably deserved from earlier.

“Well excuse Isaiah and demon spawn. Zira, we have to dance. Let’s go, woman.” Hunter pulled a non reluctant Zira to the dance floor.

I was glad they rushed away, so they couldn’t hear a growl escape my lips. Well, except my sister, who gasped.

“What was that,” Isabella asked, watching me carefully. She followed my gaze and her eyes went wide. “Was that because of Zira?” She gasped. “Bro, is that the bond talking?”

“No, of course not. I’m just worried. Hunter can be a bit presumptuous. That’s all.”

“True but we both know that’s not why. Besides, shouldn’t you be growling at whoever is flaunting over Victoria? Where is she anyway?”

“She wasn’t feeling well, so she went upstairs,” I said with a bit of annoyance. So I walked back to the bar with Isabella on my heels. I ordered two rounds of shots, making them a double. Our bodies are made to burn off calories way faster than humans, so it takes a lot to get us drunk.

“Have you checked on her,” Isabella asked, a little worried.

“I don’t care, right now, Isa,” I almost yelled, instantly regretting it. I looked at her shocked face. “I’m sorry. Just a bit on edge, but this should help.”

Finishing off the next round of shots. I ordered two more and scanned the crowd until I came upon Zira dancing with Hunter. This was starting to get pathetic. She was just dancing with my best friend. It’s harmless. So it shouldn’t be bugging me this much? I needed to take my mind off of this.

Before I contemplated more I grabbed the first thirsty girl hanging around me and went to the dance floor. No matter how much I tried to distance myself, I can still feel Zira around me. Once or twice we would catch each other's eyes, she would smile and make something below twitch with excitement.

I decided to ignore this feeling and focused on drinking and dancing with different girls at the party. After a while, I saw Zira drinking at the bar with Isabella. I can tell from her body language she was upset. Something must have happened. I looked around and finally found the reason. Hunter was deep throating some girl in the corner. Of course he would bounce from girl to girl that bastard.

“Come on, babe, how about you show me your room?” I completely forgot about the girl pawning my chest, trying to get me to kiss her.

“Sorry sweets, but you are not the one I’m looking for,” I said leaving her on the dance floor, making a bee line for the bar. Before I got there I could see Isabella yelling at Zira, who was apparently shocked by something. Then Isabella storms off.

Hey, everything ok I mind-linked Isabella.

I’m fucking fanastic. Just leave me alone she yelled before shutting me out.

I walked up to Zira, who was downing two more shots. “Hey, hey slow down there tiger.”

She laughed, wiping the tears streaming down her face. Instantly my hand wiped a tear that escaped, then caressed her cheek. “You gonna be okay?”

“I’ll be fine, thank you,” she whispered, leaning into my hand. I never want to let go of her face. I stepped closer, bringing me closer to her lips. She quickly registered our closeness and quickly moved away.

“Why are holding my papers hostage,” she asked out of nowhere.

I guess I’m not that surprised. I knew eventually she was going to ask about them. I just wish it wasn’t now. I turned away from her and ordered another shot. She followed suit. Maybe she wasn’t ready for an answer.

“I don’t want you to go,” I heard myself say. She looked at me, waiting for me to continue. “It’s dangerous out there, Zi and you could really get hurt.”

“Bullcrap! You know I can take care of myself. I’m not the best warrior but I have the best trainers. You and Isa. Besides there’s nothing really keeping me here, Isaiah. So please just give me the papers.”

I sighed in frustration. She was right. There was nothing I could say to keep her here. I couldn’t ask her to wait for me. Wait for me to get used to this position. It would be selfish and a lot could happen in that time. I could find my mate, she could find hers.

“Fine. Come by my office tomorrow and we will get them signed.”

She quickly gave me a hug. “Thank you. Honestly, thank you. Let’s toast to that,” she suggested handing me a drink.

“Let’s do it,” I said, making a toast.

After that, the rest of the party was a blur. Since this was going to be our last in a while, we decided to spend the entire party together. When we moved to the dance floor things started to heat up. The way she was moving to the beat had me hypnotized. When she turned and grind against me I almost lost it. How could I let this leave?

I grabbed her hips and whispered, "Careful, Zira. I might lose control here."

She turned and pulled me closer til our lips were almost touching. I thought she was going to kiss me, but she moved to the side of my ear and whispered, "What's stopping you?" Then she lightly bit me. Yep those shots were talking.

More dancing, more drinking, and not letting Zira out of my grasp. After a while I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. If anything was going to happen tonight, I had to make sure I was prepared. After splashing water on my face a few times, I felt a bit of energy return but I still felt a bit woozy. I checked my pockets and felt the condoms I was looking for.

I knew I was going to regret waking up in the morning but this night was starting to feel worth it. I thought about the things I was going to do with Zira when I got her to my room. I can feel myself getting hard with just the thought. I went back to the party and couldn’t find Zira anywhere. Maybe I was pushing a little too hard, but can’t say I’m a little disappointed.

I decided it was time to leave the party and I went to my room. I took a shower trying to wash away my horniness. Hell, I was too mad to take care of myself. After the shower I went back to my room and then I heard a giggle. I looked towards my bed and I couldn’t believe I missed this. Sitting up in my bed was a drunken Zira, watching me across the room.

  “Zira.”

“Sorry I didn’t mean to come here, but your sister just ruined my mood, so-,” she said as she slowly registered the fact I was only wearing a towel.

Her eyes roamed up and down my body and all my efforts to get rid of horniness came back tenfold. Her eyes connected with mine and I knew exactly what they were saying. I couldn’t help but smile. Her arousal invaded my nostrils and my mind went on autopilot as I walked towards her.
