Chapter 63

  THE RELEASE

  Tuesday 7:00 am

"Salamat" Lamide called, opening Salamat's cell.

Salamat had just finished praying. She woke up late for her morning prayer and was still on the floor, chanting her morning supplications.

The woman saw Salamat's mouth moving and she quietly stood outside.

When Salamat was done, she stood up and greeted the policewoman.

"How are you dear?" She asked Salamat with a cheerful smile.

Salamat smiled back. "I'm fine, ma."

"It's time to go home. Your parents are already waiting for you outside."

  "Home?"

  "Yes, dear."

  "What?" Salamat exclaimed in joy.

"You mean I am free to go home now?" She asked again, to be sure.

"Yes, dear" Lamide flashed her a smile. "Or you want to keep staying here?"

"Of course not", Salamat frowned and ran out of the cell to hug Lamide who chuckled lightly as they hugged each other.
