Ember rushed into her room and hastily closed the door behind her, creating a barrier between herself and the world outside. She slumped onto her bed and buried her face into the pillow, lost in her thoughts.
"Ember, get fresh and come to my room. I have something to tell you," Emir's voice called from the other side of the door, accompanied by a gentle knock.
"What does he have to say to me now?" Ember wondered, her mind racing. "How could he just say I'm his girlfriend without even asking me? It was so sudden. Should I go or not? I have to go; he's calling. No, no, no, let's go, Ember. You can do it. It's just that he needs to tell you something. There's nothing more to think about."
Emir's voice interrupted her thoughts, "Are you coming?"
"I am coming," Ember replied aloud and thought, "I can't escape from this."
She rushed to the bathroom to freshen up and changed into her night dress, then opened the door. As she stepped outside, she didn't notice that Emir was standing right in front of her, and they accidentally bumped their heads together.
"Oops! Sorry, I didn't see you," Ember apologized.
Emir didn't even look at her face. Instead, he held her hand and briskly led her into his room. Once inside, he closed the door and declared loudly, "We're studying, so don't disturb us."
Ember stood beside the bed, feeling a mix of confusion and fear about what Emir had in store.
