You Are My First

**The Next Day**

When Ember woke up, she saw Dylan standing in front of her. "Hey, good morning," she said, still groggy from sleep.

He smiled warmly, replying, "Good morning, baby. Get up, we're running late."

Ember blinked in confusion. "For what?" she asked, sitting up.

"You'll find out soon enough," Dylan replied with a playful grin.

As they sat down for breakfast, Ember noticed something different. Her eyes wandered to Dylan's face—he was wearing glasses. He looked like a cute, studious teacher, and she couldn't help but wonder why. She had never seen him wear glasses before, not even when he was reading.

"Are you done staring at me?" Dylan teased, catching her in the act.

Ember blushed and smirked. "No! Let me admire you a little longer."

He laughed softly. "Eat quickly and come to my study. I have something to show you."

Curiosity piqued, Ember ate her breakfast as fast as she could. Her mind raced with thoughts. What could he possibly have to show her? The moment she finished, she dashed to his study. "So, what is it you want to show me?" she asked, panting slightly.

Dylan chuckled. "You're too fast."

"I know! Now tell me!" Ember insisted.

He handed her a file. "What's this?" she asked, opening it.

Dylan smiled. "This is our schedule. It contains your study timetable and my shooting schedule."

Ember's eyes widened as she looked at the file. "What?!"

Dylan nodded. "Yes. I know this all happens while you're asleep, but you wanted to study, so here we go."

"So that's why you're dressed like a teacher and everything feels like a classroom," Ember realized, shaking her head. "You're going to teach me, aren't you?"

"Right! Absolutely right!" he said enthusiastically.

"Are you kidding me?" Ember asked, half in disbelief, half amused.

"Nope. Just follow my lead," Dylan said, his tone serious but playful.

Ember sighed, knowing there was no escape. "Alright, let's see how you made my timetable."

She scanned through it:

---

**TODAY**

**10:00 AM - Management**

**11:00 AM - Accounting**

**12:00 PM - Math**

**1:30 PM - Economics**

**2:30 PM - Lunch**

**3:00 PM - Come with me to my office, and then revise everything we've covered. After I finish work, I'll test you in the car on the way home.**

---

Ember groaned. "This is too much! Even during your work time, I have to study?"

Dylan gave her a knowing look. "Stop complaining and let's get started."

After hours of studying, Dylan finally announced, "Lunch time!"

Ember grinned in relief. "Yes! Finally, a break!" she exclaimed, running toward the dining room.

Dylan chuckled to himself, thinking, *She's just like a cute child sometimes.*

As soon as she saw the food laid out on the table, Ember hurried to wash her hands and started eating quickly. A moment later, Dylan came down the stairs and scolded her, "Slow down, or you'll choke."

Without looking up, Ember replied through a mouthful of food, "I won't!"

But, of course, she did. Coughing violently, she felt her face heat up in embarrassment.

Dylan rushed to her side, patting her back gently before handing her a glass of water. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

Ember nodded, still catching her breath. "Hmm," she mumbled.

"Next time, eat slower," Dylan advised with a teasing smile.

"Okay, okay," Ember muttered, feeling sheepish.

After lunch, Dylan told her, "Go get changed."

"Alright," she said, heading off to freshen up.

When Ember returned from the washroom, she noticed a beautiful light pink dress laid out for her. It had long sleeves and a flowing bottom, perfectly suited to her style and comfort. She held it up in front of the mirror, imagining how it would look on her.

Just then, Dylan entered the room, his eyes softening as he saw her with the dress. "You'll look great in that," he said before heading back to his room, gently closing the door behind him.

Ember smiled to herself, feeling the warmth of his thoughtfulness.

**The Moment of Awkward Temptation**

When Ember stepped out of her room, she noticed that Dylan's door was slightly open. Curiosity got the best of her, so she knocked gently. "Hey! Dylan, are you there?" she called out softly. No response. Cautiously, she pushed the door open a little more, only to be greeted by an unexpected sight.

There he was, standing in front of her, shirtless, a towel draped over his shoulders as he dried his hair. Droplets of water from his damp hair sprinkled over her like a soft summer rain, cooling her skin. Her breath hitched as she took in the sight—his long, toned legs, his broad chest, the perfectly sculpted six-pack abs. It was like something out of a dream. *Oh my, my!* Ember thought, her eyes helplessly glued to the sight before her. She couldn't stop staring.

Suddenly, Dylan spoke. "What? Who's there?" His voice pulled her back to reality. He turned and caught her wide-eyed, staring at him like a honeybee mesmerized by a flower.

Before she could react, he strode over and gently pulled her closer. Ember snapped back to the present. "Oh no! Sorry, sorry! I wasn't looking!" she blurted, squeezing her eyes shut in embarrassment.

Dylan leaned in, his voice a seductive whisper in her ear. "You can look more if you want, but we're running late. Let's save this plan for tonight." His warm breath sent shivers down her spine.

Flustered, Ember stammered, "What?!" She quickly pushed him away, fleeing back to her room and shutting the door behind her.

**Self-Talk**

Once alone, Ember leaned against the door, her heart racing. "Oh no, no, no! What did I just see? He's so hot... his body, those abs—oh my!" She covered her cheeks with both hands, patting them to snap out of it. "Stop thinking about that!" she scolded herself, jumping onto the bed and burying her face under the pillow.

Some time later, a knock at the door startled her.

"Who is it?" Ember called out.

"It's me, Butler Feng. Dylan sir is waiting for you in the car. Please come downstairs," came the polite reply.

"Okay!" she answered.

After touching up her appearance, Ember made her way downstairs, feeling a little nervous. She headed to the kitchen, suddenly realizing she was thirsty. Pouring herself a glass of water, she took a sip.

Just then, a familiar voice startled her. "So, you're here."

Ember spun around, only to find Dylan standing right behind her. The shock made her sputter, spitting water onto the floor. "Cough! Cough!"

Dylan raised an eyebrow, concerned. "Are you alright?"

"Yes, yes, I'm fine," Ember replied, trying to regain her composure.

Dylan looked at her skeptically. "What's going on with you today? You sure you're okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine!" she insisted, but as he stepped closer, she instinctively took a step back, putting some distance between them. For some reason, being near him felt... different today.

Dylan frowned slightly. "Let's go. We're getting late," he said, his voice soft but commanding.

"Hmm," Ember muttered, following him out to the car.

The ride to Dylan's office was quiet—too quiet. Ember sat in silence, her mind racing. She knew why she was so quiet, but Dylan's sudden silence confused her. The tension hung thick between them as they drove.

When they arrived at his company, Dylan leaned in toward her. Startled, Ember crossed her arms protectively over her chest. He sighed. "Stop doing that. I'm just helping you put on a mask. I don't want anyone to see you and make assumptions."

"Oh," Ember said softly, feeling silly. "Okay."

**At Dylan's Office**

As they entered his company, Ember was amazed at how everyone greeted Dylan with such respect. Seeing the admiration his employees had for him made her feel proud, though she was still unsure of his exact position here. As they walked down the hall, Ember noticed banners and advertisements featuring Dylan's face, further adding to the mystery of his role.

Finally, they reached his office. Ember's eyes landed on a large banner hanging on the wall. It featured Dylan seated in a chair, legs crossed confidently, one hand resting on his leg, the other near his lips. His intense gaze exuded passion and elegance. She couldn't tear her eyes away.

Before she could process everything, there was a knock on the door. A woman entered, dressed smartly in business attire. "Sir, good afternoon," she said.

"Afternoon," Dylan replied, nodding toward her. "Tell me about my schedule."

The woman glanced briefly at Ember before turning back to Dylan. "Sir, you have a meeting with the chairman to discuss the new project," she said before leaving the room, casting another curious look at Ember as she walked out.

**A Surprising Moment**

Ember thought to herself, *He's going to a meeting—that means I'm free! Finally, a break!* Excitement bubbled inside her as she watched Dylan reviewing some documents. He was so focused, his brows furrowed in concentration. The scene before her felt like a perfect portrait of him—serious, handsome, completely in his element. She wished she could capture this moment forever.

"Oh, so handsome…" she whispered, getting lost in her thoughts.

"Really?" came a voice, startling her back to reality. Ember's heart skipped a beat. Dylan was no longer at his desk—where had he gone? She turned around, only to find him standing right behind her. Her sudden movement caused her to lose balance, and she began to slip.

"Whoops!"

Before she could fall, Dylan grabbed her hand, steadying her. With a playful smile, he asked, "So, tell me, am I really that handsome?"

Ember found herself half-falling, half-standing, with Dylan holding her in place. *Seriously?* she thought. *Now's the time to ask that?*

"Pull me back!" she grumbled. "My back hurts!"

With a smooth tug, Dylan pulled her up, and she stumbled into his chest. Her hands rested on his shoulders as she lifted her face, realizing their faces were only inches apart. Embarrassed, she tried to step back, but he held her hand firmly, pulling her even closer.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Dylan grinned. "Can't I hug you? You're my girlfriend, after all. And as my girlfriend, you owe me hundreds of hugs a day."

"Huh? What?" Ember's eyes widened in confusion.

"Don't you know?" Dylan teased.

"I… didn't know," Ember stammered, feeling her cheeks flush. "This is my first time."

Dylan raised an eyebrow, amused. "Really? I'm your first?"

Ember nodded, barely able to meet his gaze. "Hm."

His voice softened as he said, "Well then, I'll teach you… slowly." He gently removed her mask, his fingers brushing against her cheek.

"Okay… now release me," Ember said, her heart racing.

"No," he whispered, his voice full of mischief. But a moment later, he let her go.

Ember stumbled back a little, blinking in surprise. "So fast…" she muttered, still trying to process what had just happened.

Just then, she noticed Dylan's expression change. He had gone completely still. Confused, Ember turned around to see a man standing at the door with a serious look on his face. *Oh no... he must be Dylan's boss!* she thought, feeling her nerves spike.

Gathering herself, she flashed a polite smile. "Hello," she greeted the man, trying to sound elegant and composed.

The man, clearly unimpressed, replied, "Hello. And who might you be?"

Before Ember could answer, Dylan cut in smoothly. "She's my girlfriend," he said, his voice steady and firm. He casually placed his hand on Ember's waist, pulling her slightly closer.

Ember felt her face grow warm with shyness. She looked down at the floor, giving a soft smile, trying to hide her nerves.

The man's expression softened slightly. "Okay," he said, then turned to Dylan. "Aren't you going to introduce me to her?"

Dylan smiled, remembering his manners. "Oh, I almost forgot. Ember, this is my boss, Lu Ming."

Ember lifted her eyes and gave a polite nod. "Hello, I'm Ember. Nice to meet you," she said, extending her hand for a handshake.

But Lu Ming try to take ember hands but failed because dylan gently waved her hand aside and Lu Ming said, "No need to be so formal."

Ember felt a little awkward. "Okay," she mumbled, her hand falling back to her side.

With a final glance at Dylan, Lu Ming said, "Come, the meeting is about to start," and turned to walk out the door.

**A Confusing Encounter**

As soon as Mr. Lu left the room, Dylan turned towards Ember with a mischievous smile and said, "Complete your homework."

Ember furrowed her brow in confusion. "What are you talking about?" she asked, watching as Dylan took a few steps closer, crossing his arms behind his back. He leaned in, his lips near her ear, and whispered, "Playing innocent, huh?"

Her heart raced, but she smirked and placed her hands on his shoulders, teasing, "So what?"

The space between them was so close, their breaths mingled in the air. Ember's pulse quickened as Dylan leaned even closer, his voice low, "Should I remind you?"

As she tried to pull away, Dylan swiftly wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her flush against him. His fingers grazed her chin, lifting her face gently toward his. Their lips brushed in a small, soft kiss, making Ember's world stop for a brief moment. It felt like time itself had paused, and all she could hear was the faint music of violins playing in her mind.

But before she could get lost in the moment, Dylan pulled back slightly and whispered with a playful grin, "That kiss doesn't mean I'm letting you off the hook."

Ember blinked, her mind racing. She pushed him gently and crossed her arms, feigning irritation. "Okay, okay, just tell me what I need to do."

With a satisfied smile, Dylan reached for a book on his desk. Ember raised an eyebrow, thinking, *Does he even study at the office too?* He handed her the book and said, "These three questions—you need to finish them. When I get back, I'll check."

Ember saluted with a cheeky grin. "Aye, aye, boss!"

Dylan chuckled, walking toward the door. "Bye, baby," he said, sending her a playful wink.

Ember giggled, blowing him a playful kiss. He caught the imaginary kiss and placed it over his heart before leaving.

With a sigh, Ember collapsed onto the sofa, feeling a mix of amusement and disappointment. *He's taking this study thing too seriously… as if it's not my exam but his,* she thought.

After a moment, she decided to get started on the assignment. "Okay, let's do this. I can finish it quickly!" she said to herself.

She worked through one question. "Yes! One down, two to go," she cheered quietly, her spirits lifting.

Her gaze drifted over to Dylan's chair, curiosity getting the better of her. *I wonder how it feels to sit in his chair…* She made her way to the large office chair and plopped down, spinning slightly.

"Wohoo hoo! It's so comfortable!" she whispered, grinning as she twirled around. *Oops, I'm being too loud,* she thought with a smile, quickly refocusing on her work.

Just then, she heard a voice from the door. A man speaking in rapid Chinese. Startled, she turned the chair to face him. Before she could say anything, he interrupted her, speaking again in Chinese. She couldn't understand him at all.

"I'm sorry, I don't speak Chinese," she said, but before she could finish, the man switched to English. "What are you doing here? You're not allowed. Come outside."

"Hey, wait—" Ember started, but the man cut her off again.

"Are you here for an interview? This isn't the place for that. Come outside with me," he ordered, grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the office.

"What are you doing? Stop it! I'll complain!" Ember protested, trying to free her hand.

"I'm helping you," he replied, clearly irritated. "And you're shouting at me?"

"Helping me? By dragging me out of the office?" she exclaimed.

As they reached outside, Ember yanked her hand back, glaring at him. "Let go of me!"

"If you want a job here, you need to be more polite," he said firmly.

Ember narrowed her eyes. "I'm not here for a—"

Before she could finish, the man interrupted again, "Okay, I get it. You're not here to steal anything. Relax."

*Steal? What is he talking about?* Ember thought, rolling her eyes. *Arguing with this guy could take all day… and honestly, I'm bored anyway. Might as well go along with it.*

Seeing her calm down, the man released her hand and ordered, "Come with me. I'll take you to the right place." With a nod, she followed him, feeling the curious stares of everyone in the company as they walked through the hallways.

Suddenly, the man stopped abruptly, and Ember, caught off guard, bumped her head into his chest. "Ouch!" she muttered.

He looked down at her, concerned. "Are you okay?"

Ember took a step back, her face flushed from embarrassment. "Yes, I'm fine. Just... a little clumsy," she mumbled.

"Good. Now stop smiling and follow me," he said.

*How can someone tell you to stop smiling?* Ember thought to herself, shaking her head but continuing to follow.

They entered a room filled with people waiting for interviews. Without saying a word, the man walked her to the front, completely bypassing the line. The interviewer stood up and greeted him. "Afternoon, sir."

The man nodded in response. "Afternoon," he said before turning to Ember. "Come sit next to me."

*Wait, what? Why would I sit next to him? Isn't this for interviews? Shouldn't I be standing with the others?* Confused but not wanting to cause more trouble, Ember sat beside him.

With half-asleep eyes, Ember watched as the interviews went on. The candidates were all older and far more serious, and she was quickly getting bored. Finally, when the interviews were over, she let out a quiet sigh of relief. "Huff!"

Then, to her shock, the man turned to her and said, "Now it's your turn."

"What? My turn?" Ember's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Yes. Come sit in front for the interview," he said, as though it was the most natural thing in the world.

"No," she replied firmly, panic setting in. "I don't even know what position you're interviewing for. How can I do this?"

The man looked at her incredulously. "Don't you want the position?"

*I don't even know what the position is!* Ember thought, exasperated.

"First, tell me what the job is," she said cautiously.

The man shook his head, looking bewildered. "What? You don't even know what you applied for?"

**Unexpected Interview**

Dylan's colleague glanced at Ember and said, "This is for the translator's position."

"Oh, okay," Ember replied, still trying to grasp what was happening.

"Where's your CV?" the man asked, sounding slightly irritated.

Ember blinked. "Oh, I don't have one."

He let out a small sigh but quickly composed himself. "Alright, let's start."

Ember straightened up in her seat, feeling a bit nervous. The person next to him began questioning her.

"What is your name?"

"My name is Ember."

"Tell me something about yourself."

Ember took a deep breath, trying to focus. "Thank you for the opportunity. My name is Ember, as I mentioned earlier. I'm from City B in India, currently pursuing my BBA. I'm here to gain new experiences and learn something different. I come from a family with a service background, which has taught me a lot about time management. My hobbies include writing, painting, and playing indoor games. I'm a quick learner, and my strength is hard work. While I can be a little shy, I'm confident I can overcome that." She smiled nervously. "That's all, thank you."

The interview panel asked her to describe a few topics and handle some situational questions, and Ember answered to the best of her ability. After a few more exchanges, the man stood up, extending his hand toward her. "Welcome to our company," he said.

Ember was stunned. *Wait, what?*

"I'm sorry," she stammered, "but I'm not here to get hired. You can choose someone else."

The man frowned slightly. "If you want a higher salary, we can discuss it. But you can't just reject the job like that."

Ember's mind raced. She didn't want to be rude, especially for Dylan's sake. "I'm really sorry," she said, choosing her words carefully. "Actually, I'm here with my boyfriend. He's in a meeting, so I was just waiting for him in that room."

The man raised an eyebrow but smiled. "Well, think about it. It's a good job and well-paid. You're perfect for it."

"Thank you, but I just want to focus on my studies right now. I'm not in a hurry to get a job."

He chuckled lightly. "You could give it a try. It's fun."

Ember smiled politely. "Actually, I... just want to study."

He sighed, looking slightly disappointed. "Alright. But if you ever need a job, come back, and I'll hire you."

"Thanks, I appreciate that."

As the conversation came to a close, he offered, "If you're free, I can show you around the workplace."

Ember thought about it for a moment. *Why not? I'm tired and bored anyway.* "Okay," she agreed with a small nod.

Sheng Chi smiled warmly at Ember as they walked. "Hey, I'm Sheng Chi," he introduced himself.

Ember smiled back. "Oh, hello. As you know, I'm Ember."

"So, you're from India. Are you here to travel?" he asked curiously.

"Actually, yeah! I'm here exploring," Ember replied as they reached the canteen.

Sheng Chi gestured towards the seating area. "What would you like to have?"

Ember thought for a moment. "I'll have a cup of coffee."

"Alright. You sit, I'll order," he said, heading toward the counter.

As Ember sat at the table, she couldn't help but overhear a group of girls nearby, whispering. Their conversation was filled with judgmental tones.

Girls' Chat...

"Hey, did you see that girl? She came in with Mr. Dylan and now she's with our HR Manager, Mr. Sheng Chi."

"Yeah, she's not even that beautiful, but look how she's cozying up to the two hottest guys in our company at the same time!"

"She's really something."

"Did you hear she got hired for the translator position?"

"Yeah, but she said she didn't want the job."

"Maybe she's aiming for something more."

Their words stung Ember, but before she could react, she heard a familiar voice.

"And what more is that?" Dylan's voice cut through their chatter as he approached.

A comforting hand rested on Ember's shoulder from behind. She turned to see Dylan standing there, his expression calm but sharp. Ember stood up from her seat and smiled at him, quickly brushing off the uncomfortable conversation. "Is your meeting over?" she asked sweetly.

Dylan nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at her. "Yeah, it's done."

Without skipping a beat, Ember leaned into him, intertwining their fingers and resting her head on his shoulder. "Honey, I'm hungry. I came here for a coffee, but can we go out and have dinner together?" she asked playfully.

He smiled, squeezing her hand. "Okay, baby. I know a new restaurant nearby. Let's go."

As they started to leave, Ember paused. "Wait!" she said suddenly.

Dylan looked at her, concerned. "What happened, baby?"

"Actually, today I met someone," Ember explained.

"Who?" Dylan asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.

A voice answered from behind. "Me."

Both Ember and Dylan turned to see Sheng Chi approaching with a smile.

"You met him?" Dylan asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Ember nodded quickly. "Yes! He's Mr... uh... hmmm..."

Dylan laughed softly, raising an eyebrow. "You've already forgotten his name?"

Ember blushed slightly, her brows furrowing in concentration. "No! I remember! Oh! Yes, Mr. Sheng Chi!"

Dylan chuckled at her flustered expression, reaching out to gently pat her head. "You're cute," he teased, his voice filled with warmth.

"Hey! You're messing up my hair!" Ember protested, swatting his hand away.

"Okay, okay," Dylan replied, raising his hands in surrender, still laughing.

Sheng Chi crossed his arms, amused by their playful exchange. "Are you two done?" he asked, his lips twitching into a smirk.

"Yep!" Dylan replied confidently. "Let's head to my office and talk."

As they began walking back toward the office, Dylan casually draped his arm around Ember's waist. They stopped momentarily at the table where the group of girls had been gossiping earlier. Without looking directly at them, Dylan spoke firmly. "Don't spread rumors about people you don't know." He started to walk away but paused and turned back. "Oh, and I guess I should introduce her, just to stop your gossip. This is my girlfriend, Ember."

The group of girls sat frozen in shock, their faces paling. Ember, still a little taken aback, smiled slightly as she and Dylan continued toward his office, his arm secure around her waist.
