Broken Dreams Under The Howrah Bridge

There was pin drop silence in the drawing room of Chatterjee house . Mrinal's mother , aunties and grandparents were only there . Her father, uncles and brothers and sister - in - laws were in their offices . Adi and Bristi were in their school . Her mamoni called others and informed .

Whole Chatterjee family doesn't know what to say , what to do . They even can't think anything . Being the head of the family her grandfather is unable to take any decision . Mrinal's mother was most shocked . Silent tears were flowing for her eyes .

Mrinal's condition was worst . She was hating herself for lying to her family and dying inside for her fate . But she can do anything for her family .

Abhay was the first one to broke the silence . Though he was also dying inside in shame , in pain he is a pro to hide his emotions .

He said ' We know we shouldn't marry each other like this . But people can do anything in love . We are very sorry for what we did . Please don't be angry on your lovely daughter . Please forgive us and accept us . '

Mrinal can't believe it . He is such a good actor . His eyes are also showing respect for her family .

Everybody is more confused The Mafia King is asking for forgiveness . But they didn't know the whole truth . But the actual confusion was how can their innocent MIRA can marry someone like this and moreover LOVE . They are hell confused if she knew about him being mafia . Cause their daughter can never do that . She hates this kind of people .

They were almost prepared for going to Mumbai to take her back . But Abhay didn't give them time to do so .

Abhay sensed their tension , pain and their confusion also . Mrinal's mother's teary eyes were making him guilty .

He came in front of her mother and kneeled down . He took her hands in his hands and said ' Please give me a chance . I love her . She is my love , my wife , my everything . ' He wiped her tears .

The moment he got up he was about to go in front of her grandmother . But suddenly the bell again rang . All the members are here now . The moment Mridul entered the house he didn't look at anyone . He took long strides and came inside the drawing room . He didn't wait for a minute and started punching Abhay . All the members gasped . They never saw their sweet Mridul this violent ever . But Abhay didn't do anything silently took all those punches .

All tried to stop him and at last Mihir and other men pulled him back .

Mridul yelled ' Leave me . I will kill him with my bare hands . How dare he to do this ? I will not leave you . You cheap mafia .'

Mihir ' Listen Mridul please calm down .'

Aroni (Mridul's Wife) ' Mridul calm down . '

All other members tried to make him calm down . Her father , uncles and her brother Mihir also wanted to kick him out of the house . Blood was oozing from his nose and lips . Her sona ma gave him a tissue as they can't tolerate all this .

Mridul again yelled ' Just get out of our house you cheap mafia . And don't you dare to think about my innocent sister . Either you manipulated her or threatened her to do so . Now get lost. '

Abhay replied in his cold tone ' I will go with my wife only . And we had a love marriage . We love each other. I can't leave her . '

He lied but according to him it is needed .

Mihir ' Listen our sister can never do so . We already said no for the marriage proposal then what the reason was for this .'

Now Abhay didn't have to say something . Mrinal opened her mouth al last ' I love him Chotodadabhai .' She is controlling her tears .

She never thought that it will cause this much pain in their life . She knew that they will never believe all these lies . She is afraid if Abhay would do something wrong . She can't lose her family .

Mridul again yelled ' Cut the crap Mira . There is no need of being afraid . Everything will be fine . He threatened you to marry him. I will not leave him .' and again went to punch Abhay . The punch was about to land on Abhay's face they all heard

Mrinal ' Chotodadabhai you have swear on me . Don't do this please . I will be happy with him . Trust me I love him .'

That was enough for him to stop . But it broke their heart into million pieces . She never gave swear on herself in her whole life . This is not their Mrinal .

On the other side Mrinal can't bear all this .She just wanted to open the ground and swallow her . She is considering herself for the cause of all problems . She can't think anymore if Abhay calls his men and orders them to kill her family . She doesn't believe Abhay for a second . She still remembered his words that he would kill her family members if she won't marry him . At last she gave swear on herself .

Before anyone could react Abhay's voice roared ' HOW DARE YOU TO GIVE SWEAR ON YOURSELF ? HOW DARE YOU ? HE IS PUNCHING ME . I WILL BEAR ALL THESE PUNCHES . SO JUST SHUT UP . AND DON'T YOU DARE TO REPEAT THIS .YOU WILL SEE THE REAL DEVIL INSIDE ME .'

She flinched at his tone . His eyes are red due to anger . He can't believe that she gave swear on herself for all those stupid punches . For him she is most important . But his eyes were holding another emotions called LOVE . And somehow all noticed that .

Again there was pin drop silence in the drawing room . They are sitting in there after lunch . Adi and Bristi were happy seeing their Moni back . But what surprised more that they are sharing great bond with a mafia . Well Mridul is still raging inside . But he controlled himself as he can't hurt his sister . Moreover all are trying to be normal . Well their lunch was totally silent for the first time .

That atmosphere of their house was totally different . Mrinal's parents wanted to talk with Abhay at least about Mrinal . But didn't do anything . Abhay was talking and playing with Adi and Bristi .

The moment they came to know that their moni is married they jumped on Mrinal and kissed her . Then Bristi said ' You didn't call me in your marriage . But last month when we went to Mama and Mami's [ Maternal uncle] marriage we had so fun . We got new cloths and we enjoyed for so many days . Why didn't you call us moni ? Uncle why didn't you call us ?'

Little did she know which kind of marriage her moni had .

Everyone was looking at Bristi . She is a baby for whom marriage is fun and a enjoyable occasion .

Abhay took her in his lap and said ' Ummm princess actually sorry . But if you want to have fun then we can do it anytime . And we will have double fun as you missed our marriage okkk ?'

Bristi squealed in joy . Adi was also happy but he is a shy boy . Abhay understood it and said ' Heyy Mr. Adi will you join us ?' Adi also smiled and nodded in yes .

Mrinal was thankful that Abhay didn't scar them instead he was behaving like a kid .

At last Mrinal's mother opened her mouth ' Mr. Singh Raizada I want to say something .'

Abhay ' Please don't call me like this . I know you people don't like me . But you can call me Abhay aunty .'

Aarti ' Okk Abhay please take care of her . And you got married with your own choice I hope you will not hurt my daughter . '

Abhay ' I give you my words . And I love her and will always do . You don't need to request me . '

Mihir ' I hope you will keep your words .'

Abhay ' Yes I will .'

Mrinal was silent . She was sitting between her sister - in - laws .

In the kitchen they wanted to ask her but Mrinal requested them not to ask anything about it . She only said ' Don't worry I will be happy . '

They were not satisfied with this but gave her some space and time .

It was evening . People were busy with their works . Though they didn't want to but they did .

Mrinal was in the balcony . Well that's what all knew . Abhay was sitting with her grandparents .

Arun ' Abhay I know my granddaughter . So please don't lie to me . We know we are nothing in front of you but she is very precious for us . So take care of her . '

Abhay ' Please don't say like this . Money is not everything . And for me she is the most precious person .'

Like this their conversation was going on . But one call interrupted.

He excused himself and took the call . After sometime he said ' I am coming .'

He took permission from Dadubhai and went away .

Abhay reached Howrah Bridge . His bodyguards informed him that they saw Mrinal near a very popular bridge of Kolkata . They told she is riding on a boat at 7 pm of evening under the bridge . They went for a sightseeing and they saw Mrinal there from the ghat [the series of steps leading down to a body of water ] . They were shocked to see her like this at that time .

Abhay couldn't believe his eyes . Many people were their enjoying the serene beauty of this place . But there was no boat except one . Mrinal's boat was just under the bridge .

Mrinal's tears were not stopping . This is her favourite place . From her childhood it is very special to her . She didn't care about the time . She literally gave triple money to the majhi [ who drives boat ] as it was very risky .

She still remembers how she prayed for her two dreams to come true .

But now everything is shattered . She is lying to them . She can't meet their eyes . Her dreams are broken now .

She can't believe it that she is here with her BROKEN DREAMS UNDER THE HOWRAH BRIDGE .

She wished her these two dreams to come true . But now she has to live with a monster .

Alter sometimes she came back to ghat(berth) and went to house .

Abhay was sad and angry both . He felt sad seeing her tears and angry as she pulled such a stunt .

He only followed her towards house without letting her to know about his presence.
