Daina's POV:

I slept poorly again.

Tomorrow's dinner makes me nervous.I was excited to see Stephan Buther again.

Knowing this meal marked Edenr's anniversary as Alpha made me uneasy.

My father's death was celebrated.

Eder was promoted after murdering my father and wrecking our family.

I hated him the most, but I had to watch him strut like a victor.

I dreaded facing him and Maria tomorrow.Their invitation was neither innocent nor kind.

They want trap me.

My uncle and Dason weren't around, so I had to be extra careful.

Seeing Stephan Buther again made it all worthwhile.

Seeing Stephan Buther in person tomorrow could ease my concerns.

My bedside phone vibrated then.

Dason called when I answered.

"Dason, hello."

I stepped to the window with the phone to my ear.

"Daina, Allen, and I arrived to castle. We asked about Mr. Stephan Buther and learned he'll attend the Moonlight Pack feast tomorrow.

“How's he doing?”
