This is something I never expected, but I keep my mouth shut and let Gabriel continue.

"Sterling developed a drinking problem after Molly dumped him, but I've never seen him drink like he did the day he found out that he had fallen in love with a prostitute. He drank so much that he was hospitalized. His stomach was bleeding. He was a total wreck. Sometimes I wonder if he was trying to kill himself…"

Gabriel pauses and chews on his lip. "But even after all that, after he recovered, he still loved Laura and wanted to marry her. He didn't care about anything else, he just wanted to be with her. I told her that she probably only wanted him for his money, but he didn't care. When we finally found Laura, Sterling told her, I don't care if you want my money, I have more than enough. I'll give you everything I have to be with you.
