What a Strange Luxury

The moment when Yukawa and Manabu are still alive, our show has been premiered in a huge room full of monitors. Each monitor sees every angle of the corners of the rooms. The vengeance that I emitted was also shown there. I wonder how many of the viewers know me.

In that huge room, a 5'9" tall lady sits in an office chair while observing my methods of killing. Her dark brown eyes stare sharply at the monitor.

Suddenly, a short girl enters the scene. She's jolly walking while holding a folder of papers as she approaches the lady.

"Oh, an interesting girl per se. From the other candidates I have seen, yours are the most oblivious. So, it was your candidate, Miss Kaguya?" The girl exclaimed.

"Not when I know who she really was. Did you find her documents, Kisara?" Kaguya asked.

"Uhmm… here it is, but… it's a little bit complicated," Kisara emoted as she give the documents to Kaguya and fidgets her fingers with a make face. "I thought it was just fiction, but in these times, impossibility isn't the issue. But still, it's too unrealistic, so…" she mumbles.

Kaguya drinks her soda first. When she opens the document, her hand flew to her chest as she stares at it incredulously. Her widened eyes scan every bit of the paper from page to page. "This… is the source legit?"

"It is," she replied and mumbled. "As I thought. You're still doubting whatever I say. You're such a shy person in denial Miss Kaguya. I'm your assistant and yet you're still deciding the truth of my words. How mean."

Kaguya closes the document with a slam and a terror look. She looks down at it like it's a cursed magic item that must not be seen again. "You better not be lying, Kisara."

"I knew it! You're still doubting me!"

"I want you to look up in this matter more. Find out if she's the real or the impostor. We can't repeat the same mistake anymore," Kaguya replied while he taps her feet repeatedly.

"What mistake? Are you speaking of my mistakes?"

"We're in crisis, Kisara, and you're still corny-joking? I just knew it. I feel the same aura I sensed seventeen years ago," Kaguya said as she sips her soda to calm herself.

"I'm still two at that time! I wonder if your candidate, Saori, is still alive then. Her age right now should be accurately sixteen. There's no mistaking it, although we're talking about mistakes.

"Wait… Don't tell me the mistake you're talking about is the twins' evil plan? My dad told me a story about it."

"There's more than it than just story. For the others here, it's nearly the end of the world. Do you know how scary connections are? Even how big the universe is, it will make you think it's small."

"So what's her connection to that twin? Is he her twin?" Kisara asked and mumbled. "But his twin died already in the hijack, right? And they're fifteen years apart. How can they be twins? No… They might be father and son… but if he's her father, then… Did he reproduce since he's nine? No way! It's impossible! I'm sure they're somehow relatives."

"No," Kaguya replied as she hears Kisara's mumble. "There shouldn't be anyone remaining in their bloodline except their grandmother. If your research paid off, then we might have concluded something."

Kisara stands straight as she puts his straight hands in her forehead. "Roger! I will look forward in this matter!"

"Before we can confirm that she's the remaining twin, there's something that you need to identify first."

"To know if they have the same bloodline, lo es? If they do, then will we panic? Are you going to report this to the higher-ups?" Kisara asked as she tilted her head to the side.

"I'm fully responsible for this matter. For now, that's the thing that we need to focus on, because what she did…

Only the Ravelgrace can do it."

The next morning came after a deep sleep. I opened the laboratory room and when I gazed around, they are already gone. The speaker in the room suddenly makes an announcement about this game's end.

"The sole survivor of the 7th tower's first game, Saori Kitagaya."

Suddenly, a person opens the room door. The outside hallway is changed into some modern facility's hallway. Its walls are made of metal in comparison to Fallout's vaults. I didn't notice the door slide from the middle slice.

I saw a person 5'9" in height and with short brown hair. In this modern setup, she still wears a red kimono that shines through my eyes. I vaguely thought that she was a shrine maiden but that's just her style.

"Who are you?" I asked.

She replies with a clap. "Congratulations on your first win, Saori Kitagaya. I'm Kaguya Izuna, your guide through this entire system. To proceed in this game, please follow me." She walks out of my view and follows the hallway.

I followed and catch up to her in a fast walk. The outside is a hallway that has no doors in it, only walls that lead to a single elevator at the end of the view.

"You're quite the brave one, aren't you?" Kaguya said with a straight face. I can't tell if she's complimenting me or not. I can't read her face, but her body interacts opposite her words.

"Miss Kaguya, is it? You're strange."

"We are," she replied as she looks at me with a straight smile.

"You said you're all filming this. Are you also including the recording of us using the bathroom?"

"The only uncensored part in that room is when you used it as a weapon," Kaguya said with a sigh as she look straight. "Beyond that, is your reward. Feel free to wait until the next game's participants are all ready."

When we entered the elevator, she started some unusual topic that no one noticed. "From being the princess to a satan, you do have many personalities, yes? Should I know if the one I'm talking to is your real personality?"

"We can exchange questions then. You can't lie to me. You seem the type to answer questions with a price," I said as I see her look and she recognized that I'm waiting for an opportunity that she'll ask me.

"Hmph, as you please," she snapped.

I looked at her with a straight eye and no emotions showing on my face. "This is me." As she looked at me, her eyes were unable to blink, but that's not what I intended to do. I broke the eye contact after that. "Now, it's my turn. It's just yes or no.

"In this first game, did all of my mates REALLY died?" I asked with emphasis on the word 'really.'

Suddenly, dead air filled our conversation for seconds until she made her reply. "No."

The bell rang and the elevator stopped as we reached our destination. When the door opens, I've seen a much more luxurious place than I imagined. Kaguya extends her hand towards the place as she introduces me to what is it.

"Saori Kitagaya, for winning the first game, here is your reward."
