Aiden led the way holding Riley's hand behind him. he moved slowly, very slow so she won't get hurt but Riley was impatient, for God's sake, they were after she and Aiden was so calm about it " Aiden we should hurry " she said

" you can barely walk. I don't want you to get hurt " he had so much concern in his tone that melted her heart. ' did he just actually show that he cared about me' Riley thought

" oh " was all she could say. she stared at his broad shoulders wondering, who this guy was. this was the first time Riley got so close to a guy, and a damn good-looking one for that matter. she suddenly felt heat in her cheeks, she was blushing hard. Riley only hoped that Aiden doesn't look back.

it was quite a long journey through the stairs. Aiden made sure he moved carefully until they were finally getting to the bottom. A frown appeared on his face on seeing that they were waiting for them. immediately they began to shoot at Aiden " get down " He says in a hurry to Riley who was already panicking. Riley went down with her eyes shooting, leaning on the wall. she was crumbling in fear. what if they shot Aiden, it will be over for her. she kept hearing gunshots and could feel them as they hit the wall above her. suddenly there was silence, was it over? so quick? was Aiden okay? it was one against many so anything can happen. Riley wasn't ready to open her eyes, she was scared of what she would see. " Riley " that voice finally called " it's over," he said. Riley slowly open her eyes lifting her head to look at him

" hh " she sigh in relief. he was alright " thank God " she looked down the stairs. the men were lying lifeless on the ground and were buried flowing out " y...you killed them "

" if I didn't. they will kill me and take you " he explained

" oh " how could she forget " we will have to cross their bodies to pass right "

" you can't?" He asked. Riley didn't know how to explain that she was too scared to pass but she didn't have to because in no time she was off the ground in his arms. he carried her as if she was a piece of paper, as he did in the woods. she looks at him surprised " it's alright, I'm here for you " he winked. Riley immediately hid her face in his chest so he won't her heated face, she slowly wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders and he began walking.

Aiden came out through the back door in a hurry. the shooting earlier already called attention therefore they have to leave immediately. his motorcycle was already waiting for them, he put Riley down gently, got on the motorcycle and offered his hand, Riley took his hand entering behind him " hold on tight ". She wrapped her arm around his waist and they drove off

they drove for about 15 minutes. When Aiden was certain that they weren't been followed he stopped at a bridge so they could take a break. Riley got off and Aiden watch as she walked to the edge. she had a lot on her mind " Dr Frankly won't rest until he gets me, will he?" she asked while looking at the sky, it was getting brighter, it was almost sunrise. Aiden remained silent believing that she already knew the answer " I should have allowed him to carry on with the extraction. things would have turned out differently, I would be sleeping in a warm bed right now," she was very tired and Aiden knew. she hasn't had a good rest in two nights " knowing the next day I will be normal. I won't be running away like this "

" you will be dead by now if he carried on with the extraction " his words made her turn to look at him. he was leaning on his motorcycle with both legs and arms crossed

" what do you mean "

" you will be dead if he did the extraction, that energy is your life, it's part of you " he explained

" well " he tilts his head " he won't have to worry about that. he knew you will die, not like he had any use of you or anyone one will come for you " Aiden pulled himself up, uncrossing his legs am arms" if Dr Frankly wanted to give you a normal life he won't make a deal with your uncle, he will come to you. he knew you will die so he made that deal. your life for your property " he explained in more detail " Looking into his eyes every word he said was true. it made sense why the house was no longer hers because she will no longer exist.

"I see " Aiden felt the sadness in her tone. he wanted to do something, he wanted to hug her " it's funny you know " she gave a sad smile " I never deeply cared about the world hating me because I had a few that loved me, and I loved them too " looking back at the sky. the environment was blurred due to the liquid gathered in her eyes, it slowly ran down her cheeks. she was crying, after so long, she was finally crying " now I have no one. " No, I won't come with you," she said, wiping her tears " I don't know you. I just know you as the weirdo from school who suddenly shows up as a superhero to save me and it turns out he has been stalking me since I was 12 and somehow happens to have healing ability then says something about being a part of me. and you think I will come with you " she spoke very quickly

" you don't trust me," he said

" where have trusting people gotten me "rolled her eyes

" Really?" he rolled his eyes

" yes " he replied. Riley's parents never told her anything and she never asked. I guess this was her mistake. she didn't know a single thing about who she was, she didn't know how to learn self-control. Maybe this was it. this was her chance to know who she was, why she has this ability and how to control it. " I think we can also get your house back " Aiden announced
