Real Life
In a one room apartment, there's a bed, not all a bed but some kind of mattress chopped by rats.
On top is a nice bedspread.The house was small,tidy but packed up.They were all sitting on a tiled floor.
A woman at her middle age,a girl about 23 years and another girl about 18years were sipping cassava flakes with groundnut.
The twenty three year old girl was tall, light skinned, dark hair,brown eyes,a pointed nose,long lashes full lips and oval shaped face.
"Mom how long are we going to be like this.l graduated from the University two years ago but there is still nothing to show for it.l walked under rain and sun but there is still no job,gosh mom how long are we going to continue like this.
Our rent even expires next two months and we do not have any hope of getting even quarter of the rent."
"Clara you've to stop worrying, everything will be fine after all poverty is not a permanent condition."Mrs Robinson said.
"hahaha mom hahaha.You say things will be better?and Abigail has been at home for the past 3 months that uncle stopped helping us.We are also running out of food and you sir right there saying everything will be fine? are you for real mom? You know what I'm just so ashamed of myself. I'm a graduate,a first class graduate at that and I can't even feed once a day without stress.Look at us sipping this nonsense we call food in the morning, afternoon and evening.Mom I've to do something very fast. I'll go looking for any kind of job,even if it is a stripper,cleaner, nanny, maid, roof washer, toilet cleaner, waste burner, anything at all I just can't stay jobless anymore.Even the least teaching job is occupied."
Everywhere went into silence as Clara stopped talking.

On the busy road of Lagos a young girl in her early twenties dressed in a cooperate way, walked around aimlessly, she knocks at a gate and the gate man opened up.
"How can I help you ma'am"
"actually I saw the poster that says there's a vacancy for a receptionist."
"oh, okay"the gate man said with reluctance. Eddie didn't know the reason for this.She was led to the manager's office. She knocked and heard a gruffy voice saying"come in''.
She opened the door and saw a fat,fair,pot bellied baldy.
"good afternoon sir"she said. She got no response and continued.
"actually sir I am here for the job of the receptionist l saw on the poster"she said and handed over her CV he went through it and a glint of smile was seen on her face when she heard "your certificate looks nice, from what I'm seeing you are a first class graduate".
"yes sir"Eddie replied but the smile vanished when she heard"I'm sorry but we've got someone with same qualifications"
She looked up instantly with tears in her eyes, she didn't know how to start begging and she didn't want to spoil things for the lady who got the job, she took her documents and left.

ln a one bedroom flat with two cushions around centre table and television three people were seated. A woman around her early 60s, a boy about 19 underground about 24 were discussing.
"Mom you don't expect me to resign from that job when we barely have anything and depend solely on Ken for all the can't quit that job even if I'm paid

"ok then I suppose you prefer breaking up with Ken we depend on your 15000 naira paid job which can't even pay up our bills."said Tinsley's mom.
"sister I suggest you quit the job brother Ken might have a better reason for saying that."Tinsley shook her head and continue on her phone. shortly after a guy in his late 20s came in he was handsome in a way wearing a polo shirt and levers jean.
"hi darling how are you"he asked and kissed Tinsley on the cheek.When she didn't respond his countenance changed
"oh it's because of that job how much do even pay you.l'll pay you 10 times every month just forget it".
She didnt say a word
"have you resigned?"
"no"her mom answered.
"oh l see since you're so adamant l told the manager you don't need the job anymore and some one has replaced you.
"who told you to do don't get to take decisions for me I am an adult and I take decisions by myself you a******"she barked crying. Ken still had his smirk on.
"you know what I'm done with this stupid relationship"she said and stomped inside.
