Abducted.

3 months ago he had moved in to live with his grandma in the country side. After his parents death in an accident, years ago, Grandma was actually the only person closest to him.

"Grandma. Today I'm leaving to Dagoretti, I might be late. I will request uncle Yumaa to come over while am gone." Bryan spoke calmly.

Uncle Yumaa was the neighbour dowN hill whom he had employed to look after his grandma when he had to leave for town to run errands.

"Ok my lovely grandson. Let me make some tea before you leave." Grandma held tight her walking stick as she lifted herself from the seat she had just taken.

"No, please let me. I got enough time and i'm not in that hurry." Bryan knowing well his grandma's behaviour, had to kindly turn down her request and add that he was not actually in a hurry.

Walking his grandma down to the living room and switching on the tv, he busied himself in the kitchen. He was still thinking about Abi when his cell phone started vibrating. Someone was making a call this early? He wondered who.

"Hello Bryan." A husky voice came through. He hesitated before replying.

"Who is this please?" He had a bad feeling. With all the unerasable memories of his first love, he felt incompeletely secure.

"I got your number from my niece's phone, Abigail. I just want a talk with you. Can we meet?" The person was straight to his point but yet he left no clue as to why he wanted to meet him. He didn't even give his name. This was creepy.

"I'm busy today. Whats your name?" Bryan unapologetically replies.

"Call me Marcos. I need answers from you. My niece was abducted!"

"What!" Bryan exclaims startling the assimulated grandma watching The Nation Talk programme on tv.

His mind raced for a moment he didn't answer grandma who was demanding to know 'what's up' from the room next to the kitchen.

"Are you in the Capital?" Marcos asked the shocked man on the other end.

After some seconds, Bryan just replied casually, "I cant make it today, maybe some other day." He didn't want to get involved especially after being ditched ruthlessly by the latter.

"I'm sorry Marcos... Later...we can talk another day ...bye." He hang up immediately ignoring what Marcos was going to say. He didn't give a damn about the issue.

"Breakfast is ready granny." He walked in with a tray. The Nation Talk this morning was about the crisis affecting businessmen. Every morning grandma woke up to watch the Nation Talk, it was her favorite time. Not wanting to disturb her as she smiled and praised his great cooking skills. He sat next to her and sipped his tea bored.

As the programme came to an end, grandma turned to scold him for not inviting her for tea. She lamented that the tea was already cold.

What did I do wrong now? He wondered as he poured hot tea from the flask into a new cup and offered her. She was unpredictable.

Bryan would never hold hatred against his lovely granny, instead he smiled and told her to drink before it turned cold again.

After breakfast they just sat back and began talking. Granny was narrating her story again. How she met Bryan's grandpa and how one day Bryans father got beaten after running away with his girl friend [Bryan's mother] in their high school times. These stories had been the talk over and over and the topic was not interesting.

Not wanting to listen to more of it, as he was used to the same story, he stood up and cleared the table.

After washing the dishes, he came back to excuse himself.

"Let me take a shower. I need to leave now." He said as he strode towards the stairs.

"Remember to come back with her, Angel city is full of beauties." Grandma reminded him before he walked upstairs to change.

"I want to see my grand daughter in-law." She told herself before going out too to sit in the arbour outside the house. The environment was more friendly there and she loved the garden, her garden.

Her mind was in a world of fantasy. She had guessed right, her grandson was in love and soon he will bring his mate home. She smiled at the romantic images flashing in her mind. She prayed that her grandson would get the best. Bryans home coming had revitalised this part of grannys boredom. She missed her husband too.😢
