Protectors.

"Meet me at the police post."

That's what rang in Bryan's head as he made a u-turn heading back to the post he had left behind.

He was worried sick about Mae's safety.

On a roof top of one of the buildings overseeing the thoroughfare in the city, someone watched the vehicles through a pair of binoculars.

He had a tracker and all he had to do was locate the exact car from the traffic. The green lights flashed and a greyish suv made for the u-turn suspectfully. He magnified the lens and read the number plate.

'Gotcha.!' The person exclaimed as he followed the vehicle with keen eyes till it stopped near the police post. He hurriedly packed the binoculars and rushed down the building and into the street jumping onto his sportybike, as he raced to the post too.

The silent police post was unaware of the audience outside, everything to them was just as norm.

Erick noticed a car park silently near the post as a red sportybike came up just minutes later.

'Seems I'm not alone.' He thought as he called Uncle Harrison for change of plan.

"Don't mind the party, stick to the plan." Harrison's husky voice echoed.

"Jane has gone offline too. We are running out of time.!" Erick reported but Harrison was still glued to his plan. "There is always time."

Bryan saw a sportybike park just next to his car as a man got off and approached him. He couldn't make out who he was as he still had his helmet on.

'Tap. Tap.'

The dude tapped on the window as Bryan fearfully slided the window down.

"What?" Bryan asked ready to dodge any attack. His sixth sense alert too.

"I'm driving you home." The man spoke from behind the helmet.

"Who are you?" Bryan asked frightened.

"I'm a friend of your grandma, I'm commanded to take you back to her."

"Whose again?" Bryan hesitated before he replied. He just couldn't believe anyone, not at this time when he had unrecovered memory plus copy of kidnaps going on in the city.

"I think you got the wrong guy." Bryan tried to be polite as he closed the window re-igniting the engine.

"Bryan, you have to stop what you doing!" The dude shouted as he took off his helmet. "You can call her first to confirm my words."

At this point his phone buzzed as Mae made another call. "Where are you! I've been standing like a beggar waiting for you!" She almost cried over the phone.

"I'm coming right now, meet me at the gate." Bryan replied as he ignored the Asian looking dude who patiently waited for him to end the call.

"Please stay away from me." Bryan said as he got out of the car locking it.

"I'm not leaving without you, after you done with the Governor's girl, be sure we going home."

"Hey! How did you know whom I'm meeting!" Bryan asked nervously as he suspected that the guy must have been following him for a while. He was not even that muscular, his height was fair with a broad chest, he had those Chinese eyes and a face that almost spelled cute.

'_pftt_' Bryan spat on the pavement as he studied the dude.

"I'm here at your service. I'm not supposed to show my face in public, but I had to to gain your trust." The dude continued talking as he followed behind.

"Stop following me!" Bryan almost screamed.

"Mister, the city is not safe for you. Your grandma is really worried."

"Cut the crap! I swear I will call the police!" Bryan threatened but the dude just encouraged him to go on. So it ended up Silent after all, Bryan just let him follow behind like a dog.

As Bryan walked past the police gate reading a message from his girl friend who had just redirected him elsewhere, he bumped into a man as he was in his phone.

"Hey, young boy!" The man shouted as he knocked Bryan's head with his knuckles. "Watch your path.!"

Bryan looked at the man but didn't create a fuss as he politely apologized while rubbing his head.

"I'm sorry."

"Is ok!" The man shouted from the back as he stared at the dude following Bryan a step behind. 'Those eyes look familiar.' Berick wondered as he walked into the police post.

After a corner Bryan saw his girl. He immediately rushed towards her as she too made for him arms wide as they hugged each other.

"Honey,"Mae whispered in his ears as they hugged.

"Yes." Bryan answered with hale.

"Someone is watching us." Mae said as she held on tight to him. "He is pulling out a gun...BABE!!"

Back at the police post.

Berick swept in demanding to meet Jake who had been sheltered overnight. As he was waiting in the front desk, he happened to meet Jane who was heading out.

"Hey!" Berick coed. Jane turned round impassively as she tried to pull up a smile.

"Are you not going to talk!" Berick asked as he followed Jane out of the building. All this while she just ignored him as if he was a mad man.

"I just said hi and you not responding.!" Berick exploded. She was showing him too much pride, he felt humiliated. "I'm not going to let you off this time!" Berick promised her.

Jane turned back standing abruptly almost causing Berick to crash into her. "What's so special about you 'hi'?" She asked with two fingers wriggling in the air emphasizing the 'hi.'

"You just saw me in the station, now you think is the best time to kidnap my mistress?" Berick asked as he pulled his fists ready for a fight.

"Hey easy man..." Inspector Joe Ken intervened. "Mr. Berick please calm down." He tried cooling the temperature by tagging Berick. "Don't create a fuss here. We shall settle all score."

"Do you forget that easily!" Berick said over the whisper. "She is the reason behind the death of Misses."

"I know Berick...just calm down for now...we don't even have evidence." Joe Ken tried reasoning with him. Berick thought over it as he looked at Jane with threatening eyes.

"Let never cross paths."

The arguments outside the station went on as Harrison decided to use the plan B to kidnap Mae and kill Bryan. He saw the love birds all dovey on the pavement ahead from where he had parked.

"Kill the boy first." He ordered a mercenary who walked out of the car stealthily aiming his gun.

Mae screamed as the dude infront of her eyes pulled out the gun and shot. Bryan for the first time in life found himself amidst a gunfire as the dude covered their escape.

The shots loud bang bang could be heard from afar. "Was that a gunshot?" Berick suddenly asked staring at Jane. "It's getting intense!" Joe Ken immediately moved into action heading out the post, Jane tagging behind him.

Old mis Gindi stared at the clock. It was getting late and Bryan was yet back home. She switched on the tv and the first person she saw was Bryan and Mae crawling their way out of hell.

The mercenary she had sent to pick Bryan up had failed to do so. "Should I go for him?" Old Miss Gindi thought after she had already ordered a guard to drive her to the city.

She couldn't sit back and watch.

Erick smiled from the roo above. Everything was going as planned. He walked out of the room building his way into the station. He wanted to see Katumo privately,he knew the police would never let him inside, no matter what.

Jake who had just woke up, asked where his sister was before another police man guarded him. "They are all outside." A police man answered him as Erich opened fire in the station.

Even Mac Hugh had heard the gunshot and rushes in camera in hand. Everything was just as Erick wanted. He pulled up his mask after realizing he may not make it out of the station after the backup. He disappeared as fast as he had appeared. "Who was that guy?" Mac Asked as he shot the video inside the station.

"You! Get out of here!" The superior too rushed out of his office chasing Mac away.

"Out! Go to the field!"

He cursed Mac too to the field. No wonder he was getting fatter nad fatter, he kept locking himself in his office avoiding all dirty work.

"Mae! Bryan ! Get in the car quick!" Jane pulled up by the road. Without an option, the two lovers were inside the police car as it drove away.

"Do you trust me now?" Jane turned round to ask the frightened Mae.

"I will save you just today."

As she drove away, a red sport bike caught up with them.

"You so quick." Jane said as she pulled over.

"He is all yours, you can take the girl too." Jane offered them over after talking with the dude.

"Old Miss is on he way here, better you hide, she is really angry with you." Bryan overheard this as Jane got in the car and sped away.

"Hello Bryan, I'm your protector." The dude bowed before Bryan.

"Your grand ma is just an hour away, do you wish to meet her?" The dude asked as he broke into a car parked by the roadside.

"Come in and answer!"
