Amoral.

"So how is your girlfriend?" Abi asked as she noticed Bryan was trying to hit on her.

"She is not bad." Bryan who knew his relationship with Mae had even gone on air, didn't even think of hiding anything from Abi. If she knew of it, well and good. He was not going to hide anything, he loved Mae but that didn't mean he won't sleep with Abi. The doctor had said he had gained a special ability after his mental illness, the problem was that only by having sex would he now overcome schizophrenia.

That's why he had secretly ordered several accessories, to calm down his mind.

"Don't you still love her? What happened?" Abi asked again. She kept asking about Mae, was she jealous? Probably.

"She went to further her studies in the US. Why do you ask?" Bryan questioned.

"I asked if you still love her. I don't want to know what made her leave, that's your own business." The talk was getting heated. Ever since Mae left, he had been suffering from erectility. A condition even the doctor could understand clearly, but the best thing was that this state made him more mannish and whole.

Though he still had lost memories, he had started a new life, a life that began after knowing Sela Maeia.

"I don't deny, I did love her." Bryan broke Abi's expectations.

She had thought that maybe she would date her Ex again but it seemed it was never going to happen.

"Why are you silent?" Bryan asked as he noticed Abi now became dumb, with no more questions.

"I'm sorry for what I did..." He didn't even know what he was saying until he had said it.

"Sorry for what?" Abi pretended to be uninterested in whatever he was to say.

"I could not remember anything." Bryan went ahead to apologize. "After I left with Mae, I regretted leaving you. In a way, I still feel a bond with you." His talk made Abi confused.

'Are you cheating on your girlfriend now?' Abi wanted to laugh out loud, for his negligence but instead composed herself.

"So what? I've already moved on." Abi continued. "Ever since that day, I regret loving you, I already forgave you of everything but I fear we can't go back to the old days."

She had her reasons, mistakes she had done and confessions she couldn't utter.

"Bryan, I'm so sorry but I can't be with you." Her voice was low, the kind of voice of someone weak, on the verge of a breakdown.

"I have also made mistakes in life." Bryan who was now not even understanding himself tried to convince her.

'Why I'm I trying to get her inside the box? I swore to remain with Mae.!' Bryan's loyalty fought against his dark desires.

"Abi. I never meant to hurt you." Bryan's hoarse voice was getting intimidating.

"But you have someone else." Abi reminded him.

At this moment Miss Old Gindi accompanied by her maid walked in with hotpots that filled the room with a sweet aroma that aroused their hunger.

"What's for supper tonight?" Bryan asked as he heavily inhaled the nosegay smell in the air.

"Your favourite!" Mrs Yumaa smiled as she opened one of the five hot pots now on the table.

"Chicken, rice and cowpeas... Here is Abi's favourite... Bhajia and some smokies." Miss Old Gindi said as she welcomed them to the table.

"Did you prepare these?" Abi asked referring to the bhajias.

"Yeah, Mrs Yumaa helped me though. Have some please."

Soon everyone at the table was crunching the delicious food.

"Your cook is very sweet." Abi praised Miss Old Gindi. She had just finished a bowl of bhajia and a chicken wing, she couldn't take more than that.

"I'm full. Thanks for the treat."

"Thank you so much, dear. Are you still going back home?" Miss Old Gindi asked. It was already 10 pm, so late and dark to go back home.

"I'm not sure. No one is home, my mom is admitted to the hospital." Abi informed them.

"I'm so sorry. Who is with her right now?" Miss Old Gindi asked as she thought of driving to check on the sick woman.

"Right now my cousins should be there."

"That's better. We shall visit her tomorrow." Miss Old Gindi proposed as she gave out her condolences.

"Thanks, Old Missus." Abi too polite said with her head bowed.

"Mrs Yumaa, please prepare the guest room for Abi." Miss Old Gindi ordered as she wished everyone goodnight.

"I need to sleep early, I'm so tired... Keep yourselves busy, Abi, you know this house like your own. Please feel at home." She smiled at Abi as she got off her chair wiping her mouth with a piece of servit.

"Missus! I've just remembered I sprayed all the rooms apart from yours and Bryan's with bug repellant." Mrs Yumaa suddenly told them all.

"Even your room?" Miss Old Gindi asked.

"Yes, missus. I was going to sleep on the couch."

Everyone was silent for a while, Bryan thought that he was going to sleep on the couch as Abi and Mrs Yumaa share his room but his grandma freaked him.

"Do you mind sleeping in Bryan's room?" Her question was sudden and kinda ridiculous.

"Huh! What about him?" Abi who was confused asked. She was going to request to head back to her home as she thought she was giving them hard time.

"Bryan. Do you mind? You have a couch too in your room."

Now how was he going to reply? Should I say I don't mind or should I deny it? Agreeing will make me look good and welcoming. His silence prevailed for seconds as Miss Old Gindi decided for them.

"Abi please don't mind. You can use his room."

"Old Miss Gindi!" Abi was not comfortable with the idea.

"Let me sleep in the living room instead." Her request made Mrs Yumaa send glance at Miss Old Gindi as they both understood they had messed up.

"I can leave the room to you." Bryan generously offered as Mrs Yumaa thought it a good option.

There was always a plan B, today Bryan must relieve himself by reconciliation with Abi, no matter what.

"Ok then. I will leave you all for now. Hope you all ok now." Miss Old Gindi excused herself as she thought of the toys hidden under Bryan's bed.

'He will surely go back due to the anxiety of Abi discovering them.'

The Huge LCD screen displayed a movie by Bruce Lee at this hour, but no one was interested in watching it right now.

"I feel so sleepy." Mrs Yumaa yawned pretentiously as she stretched her arms.

"I'm going to sleep on this couch."

"But you were to sleep upstairs." Bryan thought she did forget.

"Forget about it! I'm not going to sleep in your bed! Don't you have manners!" She revealed anger in her tone, something she rarely did.

"Is ok Mrs Yumaa." Abi soothed the situation as she looked around the well-furnished room. There were plenty of couches in here. Whatever she was thinking Mrs Yumaa had long seen through her.

"There are lots of mosquitos and coldness down here, plus I don't think there are any extra covers."

The two looked at each other, Mrs. Yumaa had already settled she had curled herself on the couch with a heavy duvet to warm her up.

"Bryan please show Abi to your room. Or do you fear her? Haha ."

"No, I don't fear her. I can let her sleep in my bed."

"Where are you going to sleep?" Abi asked as she felt wrong, she shouldn't have come over. If only she knew.

"Don't mind, I will rest on my couch," Bryan said. "I'm going up now."

Mrs Yumaa covered up her face under the duvet as she smiled. She was hoping it would happen, at least tonight. The doctor had advised Miss Old Gindi to get her grandson a comfort girl to help Bryan through his situation.

"Good night Abi." Mrs Yumaa wished from the couch making the nervous girl turn back and realise she had no other option.

"Good night to Mrs Yumaa." She had to follow Bryan to his room. She was not sleepy but there was nowhere else to rest.

Their soft footsteps on the stairs made Mrs Yumaa wonder if Bryan will be able to get the Girl under his charm. They were both acting like strangers till now.

"I will sleep on the couch, no need to worry." Bryan opened the door with a creek as Abi stepped inside his room with regret.

"Ok." That was all she said as she sat on his bed. This reminded her of the old days they were together.

"Aren't you going to cover yourself?" Abi had to ask as Bryan took off his shirt to sleep on the couch. He had no sheet to cover himself.

"I'm not used to sleeping with a shirt on." He said.

Abi was not in the mood to lie on his bed, she had no sleep she was going to stay awake all night. "You can sleep on the bed. I'm not sleepy." She decided as she pulled the thick sheets off.

"No! I'm ok. It's not cold in here." Bryan was reluctant. She was his visitor, he had let her sleep on the bed.

But Abi pitied him. The curtains now flipped as a cold night breeze swept in. "Please sleep on the bed." Abi pleaded. It was not the first time sharing a bed with him, she shouldn't feel awkward.

"Please." Her plead made him transfer his muscular body to the bed.

"Are you not going to sleep.?" Bryan asked as he covered himself. "Don't harm yourself by being somnambulistic."

He continued pleading until Abi gave in and lay next to him on the bed. Her body faces the ceiling.

"Bryan, I'm sorry for what I did," Abi said as Bryan got off to switch the lights off. Now only the bed lamp luminated the room in dim yellow light.

"Is ok. Good night Abi."

He turned to face the opposite side as Abi breathed heavily.

'He is not even interested in me. But why are my instincts telling me to stay alert?' Abi soon drifted off too.
