Luck lucky.

That night Abi had confirmed to him that she had got a new job. That's why she had come back late, from Isiolo where she had left the night before.

"Is ok love." She did add after having fun in bed. She had to understand him. He was sick, and something disturbed his calmness.

'Why am I libidoless? I'm not even energetic for another shot!' Opposite her side, Bryan lay facing her. His hand round her curve as he tried to hide his face, damn I'm stuck!

"My baby daddy is ok. You don't have to think about it so much." Abi knew he had tried his best, even with her doing a blow job, his urge had failed to remain erect for more than five minutes. A pleasure that had been too short for sweet.

"I swear am not thinking about anything!" Bryan cried out as Abi held him tight, soothing him to relax and concentrate.

"I should head back to work." She did remember she had just asked for the short notice of absence.

"Like now! I thought you would start your job officially tomorrow!"

"No, I should even be at work now, I came because of you," Abi spoke, getting off the bed.

"Will you come for dinner?" Bryan followed behind her, pulling on his pants.

"If I can I surely will." All that was on Abigail's mind now was to rush back to work. She remembered her boss, simply the man overseeing her, Gabriel Houston. He had a name exactly like her surname, yet they were total strangers despite working in the same company.

"I will drive you back." Bryan offered at this moment.

"Thanks. It's almost noon! I need to be there before lunch."

"Isn't noon just lunchtime?"

"No. Like I got to report back before my boss goes out for lunch." Abi defended herself as she rushed into the shower.

"I will have a shower when I get back home." Bryan had to share the shower or wait, and he choose to wait.

Some minutes later Abi walked out of the mansion in a pair of black dowdy suits. She looked all but sexy, alluring and presentable.

Old Miss Gindi had long come back, with her maid, Mrs Yumaa who stood from the hallway.

"You look so beautiful. Wow." The missus praised her as she got in the SUV next to Bryan.

"Thanks, Missus." Abi smiled as she pulled down the skirt as took the seat.

"Bryan remember to drive safe." Old Miss Gindi shouted back, out at the SUV driving out.

"I always do granny. I will be back before you know." Bryan shouts back from the window as the gateman let him drive out, to town.

"Babe. How is your new job?" Bryan had not yet asked her this. He felt the importance to know.

"Well is not a bad job. The main company runs from the US! They did just happen to open a new branch here, I guess that's how I got the job so easily."

"Is total luck! How much are they paying you?" Bryan questioned as they sped off overtaking the car at the front.

"Remember you should drive safe!" Abi almost screamed as Bryan stepped on the gas.

"I'm driving a safety course."

This answer made her shake. I'm not in such a hurry! I fear races!

"Are you afraid?" Bryan realized Abi had long fastened the belt and grabbed the edges of the seat.

"Yeah. I don't love this speed." She admitted honestly.

"Ok. How much are they paying for?" He de-accelerated a bit letting her intense.

"Two hundred thousand Kes a month! That's two thousand dollars!" She converted with a smile.

"Babe girl you now damn rich!" Bryan congratulated her. He was jobless despite the master's and degrees he did achieve, but he was ok. The Gindi were not poor, folks at the highland knew Gindi was a rich, well-known noble family.

"They are still recruiting, why don't you try your luck too?"

"Uhm babe. I have already applied somewhere else." Bryan lied. They had now got to Isiolo town, way past lunchtime because it was now 3 pm.

"Where did you apply for a job?"

"You will know when I get it!"

"Just what do you mean!" Abi did not contend with the answer.

"I'm not even sure if I will get the job! Why don't you wait for the surprise?" Bryan sighed as he checked his watch.

"Exactly three fifteen. Right on time... Huhu."

"No problem, I will defend myself." She was late on the first day of work, a bad impression.

"Are you just going to leave without giving me anything for the drive?" Bryan had to stop her.

"What do you want?" Abi stopped for a minute to ask. She thought it was all for free.

"My goodbye."

"Oh hehe, just that?" She chuckled as she said goodbye.

"Not enough for a goodbye, you forgot to add something." Bryan was not pleased with her state.

"Babe! What!" She begged as she cried out loud for heaven's sake, "I'm getting late for work!"

"You're already late!" Bryan honestly replied.

"What do you want please." Abi strode back now with a pleading face.

"Right here?" She asked as she looked around, the place was full of closed-circuit televisions monitoring every corner.

"Yeah," Bryan replied. He had just requested a kiss, one that should be deep and arousing.

"Ok then." Abi closed her eyes and leaned forward, letting him kiss her instead as he pulled her to lean on the window.

"I will pick you up after work." He said after draining her strength.

"I will be waiting for you. At five."

"Ok. Take care sweetheart."

What Abigail had hidden from Bryan was that her job as a sales representative for the recently opened Moonsun Company in Isiolo had gone through after a bribe.

This had to remain a secret since whoever had helped Abi didn't wish Bryan to know about it.

'Isn't Gabriel back?' Abi walked into the empty office sighing in relief. 'I'm sure lucky.'

As the couple had left for Isiolo, Old Miss Gindi had turned back to her servant.

"Isn't it time we meet that king Pin?"

Thomas had been scared off, if they don't act sooner, he will surely be back and ruin everything again.

"At your command!" Mrs Yumaa obeyed. They had long planned this, if not today not tomorrow.

So that's how they left the highland before Bryan's return. The head security officer informed Bryan once he arrived that his grandma had gone for a business meeting in the capital.

"At this hour!" He didn't take the lie. This was now the second time she had left for the Capital secretly, just what was going on.

"When is she coming back?" He asked the security officer who shook his head.

"Young Lord, I have no idea."

The afternoon was boring for Bryan now. Or should I call Mae now? It's been a while.

He dialled her private number which went unanswered after several attempts.

"What is wrong today?" He tried getting in touch with Mae but the call went unanswered.

'Should I call aunt Xie Yu?' He scrolled down his contact list as he slid on Berick's phone number.

"Long time Ariff." The call went through and Berick's deep voice resonated through.

"What's up Bryan?" Berick went straight to ask.

"Nothing man... Eer is Mae ok?"

"Yeah, she is fine. Why?" Berick now got serious, his jovial tone went steady as he replied after seconds.

"She left with a friend of hers... Yeah, maybe she forgot her phone behind... I will call you back once she gets home." Berick tried being honest but went for care. At the moment he sat across a park, keeping an eye on Mae who had found a new friend, Leonard.

'Should I tell Bryan about this?' He thought but decided to remain silent for the best.

'It's just been four days and Mae has completely forgotten about Bryan.' Memphis was not going to let Mae go back home.

"Hey! Berick!" Mae who had been engrossed in Leonard's company suddenly called out.

"What do you want?" Berick walked up to them. He had a really bad feeling for this white boy, he will soon be his punching bag.

"Can you please give us some privacy?" Mae asked as Leonard pulled his arm over her shoulders.

"Yeah. We are ok in here... Can't we even do our staff without you watching us!" Leonard chipped in.

"Is my duty to protect Mae." Berick remained calm.

"Oh oh, Mr Bodyguard... She is safe with me for now." Leonard was creating a fuss.

"Isn't it Cutie?" He pulled Mae close to him, obviously to displease Berick who sniggered.

"Ok. I will leave as you two wish... Can I have a word with you first?" Berick had to tolerate Leonard's bad mouth.

"Just a minute bodyguard. We have lots of stuff against our time here."

"Leo. Is alright..." Mae walked over to Berick who now stood steps away.

"Berick. We just want to have fun like others, without being monitored." Mae complained.

"I will report this to your Aunt, and why aren't you picking up Bryan's calls?" Berick knew Mae had found a new friend, and it was not his concern but Bryan was his friend, he had to talk for him.

This made Mae silent. It did shake her for once, "Did he call you?" She asked. She had ignored his calls but never thought Bryan would turn to Berick.

"And what did you tell him." She hissed as she made a glance back at Leonard who had her phone.

"I told him everything."

"What! He is just a friend!" Mae shrieked now. "What exactly did you say?"

This was what he wanted, and he now understood that Mae still loved Bryan deep to the core, the problem was that she was turning to Leonard for company.

"I don't have to tell you." Berick blackmailed her. "It's lunchtime, either we leave or Bryan will know everything... Wait a minute... I remember... And your Aunt's lost ATM."

'What! He knows about that!' Mae knew she did be in trouble if Aunt Xie Yu get air of this.

"Don't tell anyone anything please." She begged as Leonard who was impatient disrupted them.

"How long are you going to talk? Let's get going, Mae!" He tried pulling her now to leave but Mae resisted.

"No Leo. I have to go back home now."
