Mysterious Man

Jess reached for the leather jacket that was hanging all over the place. She decided to look for her two children outside the house. She couldn't stay still in a frenzy. Likewise, she chose a motorbike to accompany her through the hot sun. The engine race was deliberately slowed down so that it was easy for her eyes to see all over the place. Right at a bookstore, Jess pulled over. Quiet atmosphere. There was only one girl who was getting ready to close shop.

"Madam, is there anything I can help you with?" The girl who looked the same age as Elfara greeted her on the sidelines of busyness.

"Where's Elfara?" "All the employees have gone home. Are you Elfara's mother?"

"Yeah, when is Elfara coming home?"

"An hour ago. Would you like some coffee first?"

"No, thank you! You're so sweet. This is for you!" Jess pulled some springy things out of her jacket pocket. The white-skinned girl suddenly threw it into the air.

"Ha!" She screamed. The girl took a few steps back. Her palms rested on the side of the cash register.

"Your expression is too much! The jelly-jelly are limited edition, but that's not how much the price. Fairly true to its ridiculous shape, but it's so cute for a kid your age. You know, it feels so sweet!" Jess walked away letting the girl glare at the squirming green caterpillar jellies the size of an adult thumb.

Jess went back to her motorcycle nervously. Where should she look for Elfara? As far as Jess knows, Elfara doesn't have many friends. In fact, it's very restrictive. Dev is also nowhere to be seen on the trip so far. Jess was still circling, parting the curtain of the night that had begun to fall. Suddenly a place came to mind. The woman increased the speed of the vehicle, breaking through the heavy traffic. In less than fifteen minutes, Jess had arrived at a place. Slowly, her feet entered the building hesitantly. A glimpse of events in the past replayed in her head. Where she saw someone for the last time. Anxiety hung along the journey in the dark corridor. Jess' eyes landed on a booth at the far end. Her beautiful face suddenly faded, a man was clearly imprinted in her eyes. The man was still the same as before even though he was no longer young. The charm that used to bewitch her did not fade with time. Jess tried to strengthen her softened leg bones, watching the man over there struggling with a sting. Jess pressed her palms to her face, neutralizing her twinkling eyes. She just realized what her purpose was. She regretted her stupidity. Elfara and Dev couldn't have been here. They never knew what happened to the man there after the incident.

"Hey, Madam! Are you his family?" asked a nurse who happened to be passing by.

"N-no!" She answered.

"Oh! He's a crazy man who spends all day bemoaning pictures of his wife. Pity! Handsome and rich, but crazy." The bespectacled man spoke. Jess fell silent and chose to leave. How could the man remember it? To Jess, the radiance of love that radiated was just an illusion that seemed real.

Jess swore many times along the way. The shadow of the man saddened her, but Jess realized something was upsetting her even more. The mysterious rider was constantly following her from behind. Who is he who dares to harass a Jessyca Amora? Jess picked up the speed of her motorbike, overtaking the other riders who filled the road. The narrowness of the road is not an obstacle. Jess sabotaged other riders several times.

"Hey, you're dead!" curse someone. Jess made her way down the deserted street, but the mysterious person didn't stop following her. Jess regretted her decision to choose the path. The road is dead end. No home and far from the crowd. There are only old buildings that have fallen down.

Jess was forced to stop her two wheels and get ready for a mental build. The man got off his vehicle and slowly took off the black helmet that wrapped his head. The moonlight couldn't explain who the veiled man was actually blocking her. Jess gulped as the man see her. Jess' eyes rolled to see a knife sticking out from behind the man's back.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Jessyca Amora… I've wanted to play with you for a long time. You don't need to know who I am. Obviously, I've wanted you for a long time. Why did you only appear after so long?"

"What do you want?" Jess glared at the man.

"Your life!" Jess' body shook, fear gripping her.

"No! No, please!" Jess pleaded. She walked backwards, avoiding the more knife carvings on her forehead.

"Haha! You look so cute when you're scared like that. I like it very much." The man continued to close the distance. The silence made clear the pounding of the loafers on the dusty floor. Jess pressed her back against the worn, faded red wall. Some cement-coated bricks splattered on the floor, making a noise in the ears. Jess sat up, the blood on her forehead already falling on her eyelids and nose. Meanwhile, the man in the black coat kept glaring at him while showing off his skill in playing dangerously sharp stainless steel. A sinister grin accompanies a brutal stabbing attempt.

Bruck!

The sound of groans echoed along with the collapse of the big man's body. Jessy fled after successfully kicking the enemy's groin. Suddenly, her hair got caught, then she fell down. The unknown man managed to pull her hair. Jess screamed, a few strands of her hair falling out. Those muscular hands banged Jessy's head against the wall over and over again without pause.

"Ah!" Jess groaned. Her body sag from exhaustion.

"You're quite brave, right? Unfortunately, you don't have enough strength to fight me. And now I will end your pain." Jessy covered her face with one hand and prepared to receive the enemy's attack.

A few seconds passed, the sound of something falling was heard. Jess lowered her hand. Her eyes bulged as she saw the man's figure turned into a woman she knew very well. The woman in the white uniform grabbed her wrist and led her to the car. Jess stared coldly at the woman who led her away toward her house.

"Why are you suddenly there?" The woman smiled without turning her head.

"I happened to be passing by and saw you being abused by a man. If you were me, wouldn't you help her?"

"Put me down!" said Jess.

"Why did it happen? Your house is still far away. You're hurt too. Let me treat you."

"You don't have to bother, Joan! Put me down right now!" Joan smiled, then accelerated the car engine.

"What are you doing?"

"This is the only way to get to your house quickly. I don't want people to think I'm the one who did that crime to you. I am a doctor, my reputation is very good." Jess sighed heavily. Like it or not, she had to obey Joan's wishes even though she really didn't like her.

Arriving home, Jess got a lot of surprises. The rest of the shards of glass gleamed under the outer wall railing. He looked closely at the broken glasses that were deliberately sprinkled along the fence. Everything still looks the same, nothing has changed. Question marks crept into her brain. She immediately came into the house and instantly her face turned red. Jess took off her jacket and threw it roughly. The pain on her face seemed to disappear when she saw someone suddenly in her house. Jess grabbed the empty glass that was sitting on the dining table, then dropped it on purpose. The sound of shards caught someone's attention which made Jess suddenly very annoyed.

"Mom, what's wrong with you? Why are you hurt?" Elfara trotted over to Jess.

"Don't touch me!" said Jess quietly, but it was very painful for Elfara.

"Why is your phone off?" Jess asked as she cleaned the wound. Occasionally she grimaced creating worry on Elfara's face.

"My phone fell and broke!"

"Why are you reckless?"

"Not my fault. That person is wrong. The road doesn't look around!"

"Who?" Jess frowned.

"I do not know."

"Where's Dev?" Elfara shrugged her shoulders.

"Go to your room and sleep!" Elfara obeyed even though she didn't really like her mother's orders. After cleaning the wound, Jess walked unsteadily to her room. The pain of the persecution was getting worse. She wanted to lay back even if only for a moment. However, when Jess opened the door wide, Jess' expression changed.
