Disappointment

Elfara took off the wet coat she had intentionally worn on the way home. The girl knew that her mother would surely attack her with many questions. Especially seeing her wearing new clothes. After that, she immediately cleaned herself up and prepared to demand answers for her mother's treatment of the young girl who was her boss. She took a towel that was stretched in a special drying area.

To get to that place, of course she has to pass through Dev and her mother's room. She could see her mother's bedroom door slightly ajar and could hear faint noises coming from inside. Elfara didn't know exactly what her mother was talking about. The girl only sees Dev throwing pills and shouting at their mother. Elfara put her ear to the door to be able to hear them.

"Why is it quiet?" Elfara muttered. She felt the door start to protrude inward.

The girl stutters seeing Dev suddenly opening the door. The young man who had a line in the middle of his chin stared intently at Elfara's eyes, then walked away. Elfara immediately took the towel before her mother showed her cruel face. After bathing, Elfara rushed to meet Jess. The woman who didn't look old at all was busy chopping meat and preparing her lunch. Elfara smiled crookedly. That woman looks very caring, but in truth, the figure who lived for twenty-five years seemed mysterious.

"Mommy what are you doing?" She asked casually.

"As you can see!" Jess answered without even turning her head.

"Are you just preparing a meal for the two of us. Mommy what do you eat? I never saw it." Elfara's words managed to make Jess' hand stop.

"Why are you taking care of my life? You should be grateful, I want to take care of you and Dev!"

"Did you do it by force?"

"Now you're starting to be bold, aren't you? Who taught you to be rude to me?" Jess gripped her daughter's jaw.

"Mommy taught me!" Elfara screamed as she threw Jess' hand away. Elfara's attitude took the four-headed woman by surprise.

"You dare do that to your own mother, Elfara?" Jess lowered her voice, sadness welling in her eyes.

"I'm disappointed in you, Mommy. What I do is always wrong in your eyes. You took my freedom and now you've made me lose my job. What do you really want, Mommy?"

"You lost your job?"

"Yes! And it's because of Mommy! What did you do to my boss, that she was hospitalized?"

"So, that girl is your boss?"

"Yes. Would you like it if I started all over again from scratch?"

"You don't have to work!"

"Mommy, you are selfish!" Elfara bent her face full of disappointment. The slam of the door ended their brief argument.

Jess rubbed her flushed face, surprised by her daughter's unruly behavior. Jess took a greedy breath of air, then chose to finish her task of preparing lunch.

As usual, Jess kept the lettuce sheets that had been arranged on the plate in the serving hood. Elfara is used to taking her own food. Unlike Dev who must always be served. The mother of two immediately took Dev's plate to his room.

"You're lazy kid! Hey, wake up! You may continue your sleep after eating." Jess removed the blanket that covered Dev's entire body. The young man opened his eyes. The drowsiness that is still whacking makes Dev's eyes look red.

"Just put it down. I have to go to the bathroom first." Dev got out of bed lazily, his eyes pierced his mother's eyeballs briefly. Dev strips all his clothes in front of his mother without any awkwardness.

"You!" Jess was stunned, though it wasn't the first time she had. Dev often does it on purpose. Extreme repel trick.

"Within twenty minutes, the plate should be empty!" Jess emphasized her sentence as she walked away from the sight that could poison her eyesight.

Dev closes his eyes under the shower for a few minutes. The cold water gave a stinging sensation all over the wound. He hissed at his reflection in the mirror. All skin that never gets sunlight looks unattractive. The wounds imprinted on his body were probably nothing compared to his inner wounds. All the scars were clearly visible in his eyes. Dev stares angrily at his plate after finishing wearing clothes that are a bit too big on his body. Sometimes he was confused, whose clothes his mother provided him? Obviously that's not the size. The sharp-nosed youth studied the plate of diced meat. The smell made his head throb.

"For twenty years I lived in a golden cage with the same food every day. You're making me sick, Mom!" Dev mumbles, as if on the verge of losing his sanity.

Dev clutches the plate, his muscular arms open a secret door behind the cupboard. In an instant, he had arrived at the small garden beside the house. The little garden was specially designed for the Bulldog—Jess' favorite dog. The garden is surrounded by a wall fence with only one window for ventilation. A window that can also function as a door. Dev approaches Bulldog's tiny house. The brown haired dog who seemed to be relaxing immediately woke up after smelling the aroma of the food that Dev brought.

"Bull, come here." The young man quickly moved his food rations to prevent the Bull from barking.

Dev smiled contentedly to see Bull immediately enjoying his leisure time again after eating voraciously. The young man walked slowly towards the water faucet located on the wall of his room. His mouth tilted up, letting the water splash down his throat. An extremely astonishing sight for a girl like Elfara.

"He drank tap water? Has he gone mad? You are useless golden boy. Sometimes he was free to go to the park while I never once got permission. Mommy is really picky." Elfara said behind the curtain of her bedroom window.

After doing what Dev wanted, the young man quickly entered the room and closed the secret door he had made without Jess and Elfara knowing. What a perfect time. Jess came without knocking on the door. The woman with curly hair looked at Dev suspiciously, but her expression immediately changed when she saw that the plate was empty.

"Okay, Dev. Now, you have to take vitamins." Dev's eyes widened when he saw the tablets that Jess was carrying.

They had just had a fight over the tablet and now, Jess was forcing him again to swallow something he had hated so much lately. Dev glared at his mother's eyes as he drank the blue granules that Jess called the vitamins. Jess looked happily at her son's finally obedient face.

"Are you satisfied?"

"Of course!" Jess grabbed the empty glass that was in Dev's hand, then left with her smile still on.

Do you know what Dev did when Jessy left? What else but spit out the tablet? Dev doesn't actually swallow it, but slips it under his tongue. Dev reaches for the drying towel, the tiny tablet has dissolved in the splashing water in the sink.

"Why did you throw it up?" Dev stares coldly at Elfara's reflection which is suddenly in front of the mirror.

"You don't appreciate Mommy's love. You should be grateful that you don't have to be me who's never been noticed like that." Dev didn't flinch, allowing his sister to vent her frustration.

"In fact, you can access the Bulldog garden whereas I, not at all." Dev narrows his eyes.

"What? Could she have seen me there?" The young man had a monologue. There was a slight fear that Elfara knew what he had been doing all this time in the garden. Dev put the towel back on, then walked lightly and stopped right by Elfara's side.

"I really don't need to be you, and you, don't dream to be in my position!" said Dev. A combination of very soft words, but managed to pierce Elfara's ears. Tears fell uncontrollably. Dev left his cold aura ignoring Elfara who was holding back her shivers.
