Chapter 9: Upgrades people Upgrades!
Miku calms down a bit and thinks in more detail." Well, I could tan that hide, but sadly, I still haven't found a water source yet, and the last thing I want is to carry around rotten skin."
Miku then finds a large tree off in the distance, far away from the location that the bear showed up in and leans against it and keeps an eye and ear out for trouble, the faint sound of leaves rustling.
Miku, once sure of her safety, opens up her status page and looks not only at her BM total but all the new upgrades.

Being the first time she has checked it since upgrading her eyes, Miku notices a few new things that have changed. " Oh, I forgot I used some BM to get my eyes. It looks like it took some BM, but the number seems off."
"Shouldn't I have more than this? Let's see, the only things I ate before my upgrade were the goblin and that bunny thing, amja whatever, and I remember having 55BM. I spent 15 to get my eyes which means I would have had 40 left, and now I have 525."
Miku spent a few seconds doing the math in her head. "So that means after the first five goblins, the amount of BM I gain must have decreased, or else I should have more, but the question is why I have no idea."
Miku feeling the pain in her arm, gives up on the problem and focuses on a new one. "ok, owe let's think about that later and figure out how to use this Biomass stuff to heal"
After what felt like hours of looking, Miku finds the option to use BM to heal just below all the upgrade options." ok, first stupid place to put that, second finally, she mentally selected the option, and a prompt showed up. * Spend 55 BM to heal?* once again selecting yes, then like a flood, the pain surged up her arm.
Miku gritted her teeth in pain as she could literally feel her muscles and bone fix themselves, and after about half an hour passed, the pain disappeared like magic, only to continue above her eye somewhere.
After the healing was done, Miku sat there panting as the pain had almost made her pass out." Dam, I thought that would never end hell; since when does healing hurt that bad I mean, I know I broke an arm but seriously, did it have to fix the whole arm from scratch."
Miku then sighs and breathes in slowly to calm down before continuing to look at the list of upgrades. " Now that the pain is over, let's look at some upgrades I can get now that I have the BM to spend."Miku looking at the list notices some new entries.
Eyes: No enhancements found

Nose: SawTusk Boar sense genome=55BM
Tongue: Hidden enhancements detected reach threshold 3 to unlock
Blood: Hidden enhancement detected reach threshold 2 to unlock
Legs: Joint reinforcement Lvl1=5BM.

Arms: Joint reinforcement Lvl1=5BM.

Miku hears a prompt as she looks at all of the new stuff * Threshold for arms and legs met* *better leg enhancement found replacing* Miku blinks a few times before smiling.
"Alright! so many new choices, and now I can spend some of this BM. I refuse to be caught unaware again. Let's start with the hearing upgrade, and then I'll slowly upgrade then rest to make myself stronger last thing I want is to feel that helpless again."
Miku then proceeded to upgrade her ears and nose first, causing her to roll around on the ground, face planting into the mud. After a few minutes of pain, she sits up as a bit of dirt falls from her face.
" Dam, I forgot about the pain in my excitement." As Miku slowly wipes the mud from her face, she can hear around her much better as not only can she focus on what she wants to listen to she can pick up echoes better as well. Like the echo of a nearby bird landing on a branch or focusing on just the sound of the trees swaying in the wind.
That wasn't all either; she could now smell way better before she smelled things like an average human, but now, she could tell exactly what she was sensing; she could vaguely tell where it was, which only grew better as she got close.
Miku, after slowly getting used to her new senses Laughs and grins wide, which happens to scare a nearby squirrel that was looking at her while trying to open a nut." Yes! Now that's an improvement. A girl could get used to this. I feel like a superhero. a boring monster like one, but still." She looks over her body and giggles " ok, scratch that, I'm more like a supervillain. All I need to do now is perfect, my evil laugh.
Miku then continues to get Lvl1 in all other upgrades but this time only did one at a time so as not to pass out from the pain. Miku, after acquiring all the Lvl1 enhancements, was left with 245BM as well as a few new options, most being the Lvl2 versions.
Miku looks at her body after all the upgrades and is shocked by what she sees. What was once white skin is now a muted grey and much harder than before.
She also noticed that her arms were more flexible and felt stronger, But the most noticeable enhancement was her legs; her knees seemed capable of tremendous force absorption, and her legs now looked like she never once skipped leg day.
