A second chance meeting ( part one)

After days of anxiously waiting for the perfect opportunity to feign an accidental meeting between me and William. I have finally found the perfect place for a perfect reunion.

I found a post on William's Instagram page of his review of his favorite coffee shop. And the caption said he is going to be having coffee at that Coffee shop today, at 4 pm and friends should join him.

I am going to accidentally bump into him in that coffee shop.

Every great love story begins in a coffee shop

But William and I, are going to write the second page of our love story in a coffee shop.

Our reunion will be like an epic scene from a romantic movie where two lovers reunite.

I am going to make sure it happens that way.

William has become my favorite kind of obsession and addiction.

His face is a holy grail I worship.

His name is like a melody I whispered to myself before I fall asleep every night.

He has given me a new purpose. Something to look forward to doing every day.

And that's spending the whole day every day on his Instagram page drooling over pictures of him.

I feel like I am getting to know the kind of man he is through pictures of him on Instagram. And that makes me fall more deeply in love with him.

He is actually way too active on Instagram for a lawyer.

I live with three lawyers at home Brittany and my parent And they have proven to be the stereotypes of how lawyers are deemed as.

Straitlaced, cocky, Obnoxious, total jerks, superiority complex, snobby. The list goes on and on.

Well, Brittany is exceptional sometimes but she is still obnoxious.

I don't see any of that personality traits in William. Judging from how open and laid back he was with me at the beach.

And also from his joyous pictures and videos of himself and places he has visited on his Instagram page. He looks more like a travel vlogger than a lawyer.

I am glad he is nothing like my parents.

I have dressed pretty today. I want to look great for William. I am wearing a beautiful crop top with blue jean matched up a blazer and black leather pumps . Perfect look for early summer.

I borrowed them from Brittany's closet.

She wouldn't notice they are gone. She has more clothes in her closet than in a clothing department store.

I got my hair fixed by my mom's hairstylist. I have gotten rid of my boring Chestnut brown hair. I am now rocking a rose gold long Bob's hair.

And I love it.

My mom was pleased when I told her to book me an appointment with her hairstylist. She told me the sight of my nesty frizzy hair makes her want to puke all the time and she is glad I am getting rid of it.

I didn't do it to please her anyway. I dolled up to look good for William.

He is the only person I don't mind changing everything about me and becoming a totally different person just to please him.

That's how much I love him.

I was all set and done. I glance at my phone screen.

It's 3. In the afternoon. And William said in the caption he is going to be at the coffee shop at 4.

I need to get there before 4 pm.

I gave myself a final glance in the mirror.

I look good. I don't recognize the girl in the mirror.

I look like a model on a front page of a fall magazine

I am rocking the fall chick look.

"You look great" I flinched staring at my sister's reflection in the mirror.

"Going on a date?"

"No," I said. I moved away from the mirror and reached out for the channel bag from the headboard of my bed. I also stole this bag from Brittany's closet.

I am not surprised she doesn't recognize it. Her closet is every girl's dream.

I pushed my laptop into the bag. It was big enough to house it.

I need something doing as I wait for William to walk into the coffee shop. I will pretend to be a writer working on my laptop whilst drinking coffee.

"I am meeting up with Harper." I finally added giving her an excuse.

"Dress up like this?" Her eyes peered over me like a rat lab she is examining.

"Yes, I am doing a vlog with Harper. We are exploring historical places in New York." I lied.

"Okay, this doesn't sound like something you would do. But I am glad you are trying new Hobbies." She bought my lie.

"Your hair looks great by the way." She compliments me

I subconsciously touch my hair.

"Thanks"

I hurled the bag at my left shoulder.

I picked up my car keys from the headboard.

"Wait" Brittany suddenly said.

I paused.

"Dad said he has a big announcement to make. I forget to tell you. We are having late afternoon lunch in the garden. I am here to fetch you."

"What?" I groaned. I looked at my phone screen. An hour left for William to arrive at the Coffee shop.

I can't ditch this lunch. My dad will be angry if I do. And that will speed up his decision to cut me off.

"Fine, let's go and see what the old boy has to say," I said in irritation.

Brittany laughed.

I stride out and Brittany follows suit.

Mom and dad were already in the garden sitting at the dining table in the garden. They were buried deep into conversation.

My dad's eyes flint slightly when he raised his head to acknowledge our presence.

"It's that our little Adeline dear?" His face was ridden with shock.

"Yes, it seems she finally decided to act like a Pierce." My mom said and darted me a look of approval.

I rolled my eyes. Seriously because of an outfit?

My dad also smiles at me. "She looks good."

This rarely happens. He never compliment me.

Do I just need to dress elegantly to earn their approval?

Maybe I need to dress more elegantly to be at daddy's good side so he can drop his decision to cut me off.

Getting rid of my hoodies will be tough but I have to sacrifice to keep receiving my paycheck from Daddy.

"Dad, " I went over to kiss him on his cheek. He returned the affection and hugged me. It felt unusual.

We are never affectionate to each other. Always at each other throats disagreeing about everything.

"Looks like you guys are in a good mood. This news must be huge"

My parent smiled and gave each other a look.

That's when a maid decided to ruin their mood.

She tripped when she was about to set down a glass jug containing Mimosa drink on the table.

The jug slipped from her grasp and fell and shattered on the table

The drink splashed on everyone including me staining my white turtle neck shirt.

Oops Someone is about to get fired.

The maid was Lucy. Too bad I thought she will last longer than anyone before her did.

I have formed a liking to her cheerful personality.

My dad stood up nonchalantly to go change his outfit. He is leaving my mom to deal with Lucy.

My mom took three drags of breath to keep her anger at bay. She is the queen of anger management.

Wait for it.

"You are fired." She said calming

Poor Lucy. Her face was already stricken with tears.

"Get out of my sight" Mom hissed at her. What my mom hates the most in the world are tears. I remember she always banish Brittany, my brother, Charles, and me to our rooms anytime we cried. When were kids. She is just allergic to tears.

Brittany wanted to step in and rescue Lucy. I could tell from the sad sympathetic look she was darting at Lucy.

But Lucy doesn't have a strong case here. You don't spill a drink on Barbara Pierce and expect to go Scott free.

I know my mom isn't done with her. From the pure look of distaste etch in her eyes. She going to ruin Lucy for good as she has done to a lot of employees who had stepped on her toes.

It's maybe too much sugar in her coffee or spilling a drink on her as Lucy did. Petty stuff but to my mom, they are great offenses to her.

She doesn't only fire you she also makes sure you never get a job elsewhere. She blacklists you for life.

She doesn't care people like Lucy have families to feed. She just fires and blacklists them without feeling sorry for them or remorseful.

She is breaking some labor laws or whatever and can be sued for that.

But no former employee of hers will ever dare to do that not if they want to have a taste of my mom's wrath.

My mom is one of the best female lawyers in the country. You can't sue her expect to win.

She will tear you apart in court and ruin your life.

She is just ruthless. So no one dares to sue. These employees are defenseless against her.

I feel sorry for them sometimes so I kind of give compensation to some employees sometimes just to say sorry.

But I don't think I will do that for Lucy. She has ruined my outfit and delayed my Dad's announcement, which will delay me from getting out of here to go meet William.

"I warn you, Lucy," I spat at Lucy as I passed by her to go change my outfit.

Brittany will surely compensate her.

My sister is the kindest person in our family.

Thankful my shirt was the only thing ruined. I just changed it to another crop top. Brittany has a lot of them.

But I had to take a quick bath first. I was sticky. And I also redid my makeup and hair.

Goddess of love please keep William rooted at the coffee shop till I arrive. I am scared he may be gone before I arrive.
