5 YEARS LATER

Jorogumo pov

(It's been five years and five years since Gabimaru was sent here to get stronger and so he did. Within those five years, Gabi's personality had changed and I don't blame him; he had witnessed gruesome scenes that no human, not even a child shall have seen. Gabimaru had become more vicious in battle and he doesn't hold back anymore, he's more closed in and doesn't share his opinions anymore. From the outside perspective you would probably think he's nothing more than an asshole however if you look deep into his actions it all has good reasoning to it.)

Jorogumo walked in Gabi's direction and she saw the young handsome boy sitting on the ground preparing for the big battle that was ahead of him.

" Gabi, you have been meditating for the past 3 hours. You should enjoy yourself before you engage in combat." Jorogumo tries to talk to Gabi.

Gabi shooed her off with his hand. " I am enjoying myself."

" I mean really enjoy yourself. Embrace the nature around you before nightfall comes"

Gabi snapped at Jorogumo for breaking his concentration " I had enough of this place. I don't care about the stupid grass, trees, sun, or whatever. I want to get this over with."

Jorogumo retreats from Gabi because she knows she can't say or do anything to calm the teenage boy. This is how it was over the years, every time she tried to give him advice or even tried to help him out he always shut her down. So she did what she's been doing for the past years and that was sit behind him and watch over him from afar.

Gabi pov

( I have the kappa, kamaitachi, manananggal, golems, oni, pontianak, agubanba, amazake-babaa, dodomeki, haradashi, hone-onna, onryō, raijū, teke teke, kubikajiri, and cherima. Today is the day when I will challenge one of the special grade curses and I will win no matter what it takes. I will always win from now on.)

Gabi went back to meditating and a surprise guest came to his side. A person whom he hasn't seen for quite some time.

" You look different from the last time I saw you," Higanbana said from behind the boy.

" A good difference or a bad difference?" The boy turned his head back to see his master.

Higanbana and Gabimaru have a like/hate relationship. They both understand they need each other to be stronger together but that doesn't necessarily mean that they have to love each other. There are times when they both can't stand each other and will argue but other times when they will have a deep conversation to get to know each other.

" A good different. If I wasn't a curse I would surely shoot my shot with you" She smirked at the boy.

Gabi's eyebrows furrow in disgust, " And I would surely decline that."

Higanbana rolled her eyes, "Now this is the first time I've ever been rejected." The two remain quiet because Higanbana already knows what's going on inside Gabi's head.

Even though Gabi has shut out everyone he didn't shut out Higanbana. Over the years he feels a connection towards her that makes it hard for him to shut her out. Gabi doesn't know why but he feels like they have a lot in common than what she let on.

"Today is the day when you will become a man instead of a scared little shit." Higanbana sparks back their conversation. Gabi didn't reply but shrugged his shoulders.

" You used to get on my nerves, always complaining and running away but now I see a different Gabi, a better version of yourself. Once you go back to the real world people will be shocked, maybe the girls will chase after you instead of your twin brother. " Higanbana said.

"I don't care about such things as girlfriends and don't mention that person. We might share the same blood but he's no brother of mine." Gabi finally replies to the woman.

Higanbana smirked upon hearing that "Well I'm glad you won't be focused on those little girls, you might feel lonely" Higanbana tried to tease the young man but he simply ignored her.

Higanbana began to go back to her hideout " But I mean it, I like this side of you, Gabi." She didn't care to hear his response so she just left after she said what she said.

Gabi stayed put where he was until nightfall came down. He watched as the bright sun disappeared into darkness. Jorogumo walked up to him "Are you ready Gabi, I can feel the immense curse energy coming from one of the special grades. I believe they are calling us for battle."

( I never celebrated my birthday before because I had no one else to celebrate with but today on my 15th birthday I can't believe I am about to have a life-or-death battle. At least I won't be alone or be surrounded by people who pity me. I miss Ms. Bushida and I hope she's doing alright.)

" Yes, I'm ready. Let's go." Gabi got up from the ground and walked to the destination he felt the curse spirit at.

Gabi went to where he felt the spirit and he walked into a red Shinto shrine that was surrounded by dead people nailed to trees, and the middle of the place that's in front of the shrine had a few decapitated male heads on the ground.

" The heads still look fresh Jorogumo. The spirit is still here." Gabi informed the spider-woman.

Before Jorogumo could reply to her master a mysterious voice appeared out of nowhere. "Now that's great observation handsome."

The mysterious appealing woman has black wavy hair with red highlights that flow well on her body with beautiful porcelain skin and to top it off she was naked. Gabi had seen naked women before thanks to Jorogumo and Higanbana but this spirit sent shivers to Gabi's body.

The woman catwalks moving her curves side by side and circling around the two beings in front of her. " Are you not going to ask about the head display in front of you, Gabi?" the woman questioned the boy.

Gabi shrugs his shoulders "What I learned from coming down here is that you wicked curses will do anything. This right here doesn't faze me at all." he honestly said.

" Gabi, you must stay on guard. We are dealing with a dark kitsune." Jorogumo informed him.

Gabi sucked his teeth, " I don't care who she is. I will kill her just like the others," Gabi went on guard,

The kitsune laughed at his statement "Kill me? Little boy, I'm not those weaklings curses you dealt with. You watch what you say out that filthy mouth of yours,"

" At the end of the day your soul will belong to me, damned fox." Gabi spits with venom in his tone.

The kitsune transforms her body into a giant black fox with red highlights around her ears and red eyes. The kitsune sprouted nine tails that also had red highlights around it. The dark kitsune roared her dominance " I guess I can add your head to my collection."

In the blink of an eye, she was behind Gabimaru and Jorogumo and fanned her nine tails together to create enormous lightning to attack the two.

Gabi was confused as to where she disappeared but once he felt a huge pressure behind him, he quickly grabbed Jorogumo and dashed away from the animal behind him. Once he got away he dropped Jorogumo on the ground and went into his fighting stance

Gabi knew these special-grade curses were not playing around and so was he. Over the years he trained hard every day to be superior to everyone, and to not have anyone look down on him, especially a spirit. He lifted his hands and clapped them together and made an okay sign with both hands after.

" Domain expansion," a sinister voice came out of Gabi.

When he said the first sentence Jorogumo felt chills crawling on her body. She never knew Gabi would master this behind her back. The Kitsune was baffled to even hear that come out of his mouth, she was told that he wasn't even up to that level yet.

" Domain expansion, Higanbana Shinigami Garden."

Gabi's eyes turned red clock quartz while the area was becoming dark. The lit fire torches came out of nowhere. That's when the kitsune knew she was dead meat. The curses that Gabi had killed over the years appeared surrounding the dark Kitsune.

" You are alive now but soon you will die to be reborn living in my shadow."

Gabi walked to his throne that's made out of human skeletons and sat down to enjoy the show. The dark Kitsune was in the middle trying to use her powers but she couldn't " what the …"

Gabi chuckles at her, "It's futile you curse. Here I have full control" Gabi points his finger at the spirit "Kill her now. " he orders his army and that's when all of the curses obey his orders and charge after her. They slice, bite, gutter, and do whatever they want to the fox. Gabi sat there hearing her screams and begging. The fox was having enough of this torture and even tried to manipulate Gabi to have him change his mind.

" You don't want to be like your fellow sorcerers, have mercy and be better than them. '' She used her last breath to try to have him call off his army but he didn't fall for it. Gabi knows there isn't a high road and to be respected he will have to give the same energy that everyone else gives him.

" Be a part of me Kitsune and we will be stronger." That was his final words towards the woman before her soul became one with Gabimaru.
