Friday

Kai

“Friday,” Ash spoke up. He watched me closely, almost carefully. He walked over and handed me the stack of my clothes he had pulled out. “We would have called someone, but neither of us know who we’d contact, and based on your reaction to being taken to a nurse, you don’t want anyone knowing, or at least, the attention that a severe concussion would cause.”

I relaxed slightly, letting out an internal sigh of relief. “Yes, thank you. There is no one who needs to know and no need to call anyone.”

“But…!”

“It is fine,” I pulled my arm from Clyde’s grasp as quickly and carefully as I could manage. I did not want to risk another dizzy spell. “I am fine. I just needed rest and water. I often get dehydrated. I also hit my head over the weekend. Those two factors must have been harder on my body than I realized. However, I am fine now.”
