Distance Between Us

Soon-Ja smiles while glancing at a bird. Jung-Won narrows his eyes as his gaze lands on the Soon-Ja figure. He steps close to her. Soon-Ja looks at her left side as she feels someone's presence. Good Evening Mr. Geun." He nods his head and smiles. "What are you doing here?" He asks with a straight face. "Umm, I was working then I suddenly saw a bird here, so I was just curious about what it is doing here.* She smiles brightly. Jung-Won nods his head. "Sometimes I want to be a bird. I wanna fly high in the sky." Soon-Ja frowns and stares at him. "Why? Don't you like the way you are?" He shakes his head and smiles. "I love it, but I don't know why people start distancing themselves from me." Jung-Won chuckles sadly. "Umm, maybe they have some reasons, that's why. You should wait until everything is gonna be okay." Jung-Won immediately looks at her, and Soon-Ja is staring at the sky. Her sharp jawline makes her side pose more pretty.

The next morning, Jung-Won wakes up as his alarm starts ringing. He glances at Eun-Hee, who is still sleeping peacefully. Jung-Won kisses her forehead and cheeks and gets up. He takes a towel and enters the restroom for a quick shower. Eun-Hee opens her eyes and sobs quietly. "I am sorry Jung-Won." She says while sobbing. Jung-Won comes out of the restroom with towel wraps around his waist. He steps to the closet and takes his black suit which is Eun-Hee's favourite. After getting ready, Jung-Won takes a glance at the tie and sighs. "I have to leave the tie again today. Eun-Hee is sleeping." He heaves a deep breath and turns his gaze to the door. "Jung-Won." Eun-Hee calls him, causing him to smile widely. Jung-Won stops at his track and turns his gaze to her. "Let me help you." He nods, and she takes the tie and goes close to him. Jung-Won grins brightly, seeing his wife close to him. After a few moments, she smiles at him and kisses his forehead. "Take Care." He nods and leaves the room as he doesn't want her to feel uncomfortable. "He didn't kiss me." She gazes down sadly with a pouty face.

Dr. Haneul is working in his cabin. Eun-Hee's behaviour frustrates him. She doesn't pick up his calls and reply to his texts. "Argh! " he smashes his laptop on the wall and slams his palms on the table. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME. YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY." He bursts out while panting heavily.

Soon-Ja gives Jung-Won the file of the meeting as they are heading towards the conference hall. He nods and enters the hall. After a meeting, Jung-Won rests his back on the chair and massages his temple softly. "Mr. Geun?" Soon-Ja stops as she sees him at a stressful stage. She bites her lower lips and walks out of the office. "One juice and painkiller, please." The shopkeeper nods. She pays him and rushes to the company hurriedly.

Soon-Ja knocks on the door softly and enters the office. She walks near Jung-Won and places juice and painkillers on the table with a note. She smiles and heads out of the office. After a few moments, Jung-Won wakes up as he is sleeping in the wrong position. He lets out a sigh and rubs his face with palms. Jung-Won's gaze lands on the desk. He frowns and takes a note. "Please, drink it and take it." A note with a smiley face. Jung-Won chuckles and shakes his head before taking medicine. "She is not that bad."

Eun-Hee comes downstairs into the kitchen. She takes a bottle of juice out of the fridge and pours in the glass before placing it back. She takes a glass and goes to the living room to spend some time with her mother. Mrs. Young smiles as her daughter sits next to her, but her smile drops when she thinks about Jung-Won's condition. "Eun-Hee, do you know about Jung-Won having a fever in the past few days?" Eun-Hee frowns and her eyes widen in shock. "No, Mom." She gazes down in disappointment. "You must know more about your husband than Soon-Ja." Eun-Hee eyebrows frowns and shifts her gaze on Mrs. Young. "What do you mean?" She asks, confused. "I am your mother. I won't teach you anything bad. You have to focus on your husband or you will lose him." Eun-Hee lets out a sigh and nods at her mother. "I will try my best." Mrs. Young smiles brightly and pats her daughter back gently. "I know."

Haneul enters his house and drops himself on the couch. He takes out his phone from his pocket and dials Eun-Hee's number once again. His eyes widen as he gets to know Eun-Hee blocks his number. Haneul throws his phone to the other side and turns his gaze into the dark. "You have to pay for it, Jung-Won."

Soon-Ja exits the company and walks toward the bus stop. It's a five minutes walk. She stands on the bus stand and waits for a bus. She is late because of her work. A big black car stops in front of her, causing her to flinch a little. Suddenly the car's door is wide open, indicating her to hop in. Soon-Ja's eyebrows frown and she takes a step back as she gets scared.

Soon-Ja lies on the bed after getting back home. Her mind is blank while thinking about the person whom she met a few moments ago. She doesn't know how to react to this situation right now. “Maybe I am thinking too much about it.” She shakes her head. She closes her eyes to take a nap as she is hella tired.

Jung-Won comes out of the restroom after a long, warm shower. He takes a glance at Eun-Hee, who is staring at him with big doe eyes. Jung-Won chuckles in pain, which is given by Eun-Hee. He is heartbroken and lonely these days, Jung-Won is questioning himself after Eun-Hee distanced herself from him. Eun-Hee gets up to the bed and makes her way to Jung-Won, who is combing his hair. She hugs him from behind and sob quietly. Jung-Won holds her hands and gets out of her grip. "D-don't touch me." Jung-Won says as his eyes get watery. Eun-Hee holds his wrist and makes him stop in his tracks. "D-don't go." She whispers. Jung-Won closes his eyes and jerks her hand gently. "Please, Eun-Hee, don't pity me." A tear rolls down, causing Eun-Hee to feel more guilty. "Jung-Won–" before she continues, Jung-Won leaves the room. Eun-Hee lets out a sigh and sobs louder. "T-this is t-the first time J-jung-Won ignored me." She says while crying massively.
