The First Guests Arrival

The room was undoubtedly beautiful, she blinked twice to reassure herself she wasn't seeing things. Had this room always existed? She knew Rosalyn held tea parties on her own accord, but this was as big as the room the Argyris family held their festivities at.

The outer walls were made of glass showing a view of extensive foliage and what looked like a man made pond. Along the other walls were hanging flowers and shrubbery, a pleasant fragrance encasing the room, she could even spot fruit trees.

The white chairs were also designed quite intricately, the handles especially with the detail to match her theme of night. The tablecloth was practically shining and she didn't want to guess the price of all the decor.

There were multiple tables and each had a small gift prepared for what seemed like mother and child. Rosalyn had done this on purpose, she was likely trying to separate people, knowing her. She had spent a long time picking out the gifts for everyone personally, having to guess what looked nice and would fit a person she'd never met.

The food prepared was certainly Argyris quality, the chef going above today and the array of sweets looked endless. Isaac would of really liked them, if he were here and Nyx would undoubtedly cringe up seeing him enjoying it.

Zoning back into reality, she spotted Rosalyn and greeted her. Her head was held high as she donned a polite smile that didn't match the pressure she was trying to put into her gaze. Giving a curtsey, she crossed her back leg and bent, lifting the ends of her dress an momentarily fluttering her eyes shut before bringing herself back up, covering the lower half of her face and staring back into Rosalyn's eyes.

She had tried to refrain from showing anyone her progress with Arkadios, thinking it would be more impactful this way if Rosalyn had noticed her presence on the day of the tea party to actively show she had tried to win their game between the two of them.

Arkadios soon followed suit, giving a bow and matching her speed and attitude. Phius who was previously a bit more docile around Rosalyn too, was keeping his head high and tongue flickering. Finally, her hard work seemed to be paying off as even Rosalyn's eyes widened, her own grin forming on her face.

She clapped her hands and gave a perfect greeting of a noblewoman such as herself in response. "Sister Theia, you look beautiful, I'm sure everyone will not be able to take their eyes off of you, now." She had to get in that slight jab at her, didn't she?

"Thank you, sister Rosalyn. It is only thanks to you that I will be the center of everyone's eyes." Her voice never wavered and she replied quite quickly, getting her jab back at her before the tea party would begin. Once they were in public, they would both have to be polite, after all.

The two exchanged brief conversation and went over what they had to one more time, it was drilled into her memory. All the guests, topics, every single thing within the past month engraved into her head that she'd likely never forget at this point.

It didn't take long for the first guest to arrive, she gave a polite curtsy and greeted them, they came from the Southern territory, a countess and her daughter. Soon, more followed suit and she easily identified who was who, giving small compliments.

Compared to before, things were undoubtedly different. She had exchanged conversation while being crowded before, but now even as more people piled, she was in charge of the situation and had plenty of space around her. She was sure these kid's parents would kill for them to try and get close to her, or even Arkadios, but no one could cross the invisible line.

It never ceased to amaze her the power of the Argyris name as people from all over really did come. It must of been quite the carriage ride. Things were rather uneventful at first, up until the point some rather important guests had arrived.

Entering in was a boy with familiar blue hair that she couldn't forget, followed suit by a brunette woman who's expression was equally as cheery as him. It seems even the puppy Leventis family had come, never giving up hope on the dear Argyris household. Even if it were inconvenient, they'd always wanted to befriend the Argyris family not out of greed but because of their kindness.

She was waiting for the day these people got a reality check. Other guests stared at the the other ducal family that arrived, she gave a polite curtsy and greeted them, exchanging conversation as it were clear no one would try to interrupt them just yet, wanting to be on their good graces.

She'd never have explicit conversation with them, but they acted as though they were good friends. "Lady Theia, you look so adorable! Your eyes are so bright and your outfits amazing. Thank you for inviting us, we were worried we'd be late so we left early. Oh is the young master Arkadios behind you? How's your father? You both look adorable." She was the human personification of getting side-tracked. Her rapid fire questions and obliviousness really suited the Duke of Leventis, a true match.

The Eastern Dragons really needed a brand new crest that actually represented them. "I'm happy you've spared time for me, Lady Leventis. I hope for us to get along," she lowered her fan, smiling. She turned her head towards the son that looked like he also wanted to talk and wag his tail. "I hope we can become closer, too, young master Nilos." Phius hissed, tongue flickering as he drew closer to her, only for her to hum and gently stroke his head.

Although he tried to keep to himself, even Arkadios couldn't avoid greeting another ducal family, even if ranked beneath him. "Arkadios Elyas greets Lady Leventis and young master Leventis," he wore a polite smile as well. "my father would be happy to hear you think of him. He and my mother are healthy, just a little busy at the moment." Even all the training in the world would not be able to save them from the terror that was the talkativeness of the Leventis household.
