Attack of Wolves I

Both Rimuru and Neptune were led by the goblins to a small village that were inhabited by little goblins.

"Well! Pretty small for a village." Neptune remarked.

Then the one goblin that had been interacting with them said "It is very hard for the weak unnamed monsters to survive in the forest. Though we were able to survive and thrive due to my brother who acted as our village guardian."

"So, you have someone to protect then why do you need our help?" Neptune had asked. Rimuru also had the same question as Neptune.

"He died protecting us from the Direwolves."

"Oh! I am sorry." Neptune apologized if she appeared insensitive.

"No problem. Rather miss is too kind for a human. Our village chief is waiting for you, please follow me." The goblin said.

Both Neptune and Rimuru were lead towards an old goblin that looked he would die at any moment while they were stared on by the villagers.

That old goblin said "Please! Follow me to my tent where we can talk with your venerated self and miss."

Rimuru then said "OK! Lead the way."

Neptune stopped Rimuru in his tracks and said "Rimuru you go with him and listen what they have to say, I will look for some food."

Before Rimuru can reply she approached the nearby villagers.

"And she is gone!"

"Then, please follow us, my brethren will take care of her."

"Sure."

Rimuru followed the elder inside the chief hut and Neptune started talking with the goblins.

Among the child-like green skin goblins, Neptune was approached by a goblin with an outgoing personality. What stood out among many goblins was his round nose among things.

"Hello there!" Neptune said.

"Hello!" The goblin replied.

'Even in different world, the goblin speaks English?'

"Oi aren't you scared for a human to leisurely walk in the Great Jura forest? Though I would be also carefree if such a dangerous monster was protecting me." The goblin said with 'you know' look.

"Hah! What do you mean? I am quite capable. And to consider Rimuru as a dangerous monster, how bad is your situation that you are scared of a cute slime." Neptune exclaimed with a surprised face.

"Heh! Then you must be strong. We felt his aura miles away and Direwolves doesn't even come close when we compare auras. We were discussing if we should run away. Between us, I felt there is a chance of survival for some of us if we faced Direwolves than facing Rimuru-sama. Also, both of you were talking casually and didn't show the 'pride' that usually strong monsters or humans have, that why we dared to gamble with approaching you."

"Then, Is it that dangerous inside the forest?" Neptune asked.

"No, we are that weak. The term 'dangerous' is relative to one's strength" The goblin replied smiling.

"Then, what all the fuss about Direwolves?"

"Oh! No species around this part of the forest are a threat to them, so they want to establish themselves as the hegemon of the area." The goblin replied.

"OK, I get now why you invited us here."

Then one of the female goblin that was listening to Neptune asked "Will you help us?"

"Depends. I also have to listen to Rimuru's opinion. Let's wait till your chief and Rimuru done their discussion. Now, to prepare for something to eat."

"We do have some fruits collected." Said the female goblin.

"Thank you, but I am more inclined to non-veg kind. Do you know a good hunting spot."

"Well, I know a good spot frequented by ~"

Just when the round-nosed goblin was saying, a wolf howl was heard.

"Oh no!"

"Die! We all are going to die."

"It's all over."

Seeing that the goblins were panicking, Neptune said sternly.

"STOP! No need to panic, they have yet to attack." Neptune was about to continue when Rimuru and the goblin chief exited the hut.

"Oh Rimuru! You are here."

"Yes! I have talked with the village chief and decided to protect them in return for their loyalty. What will you do?"

"I don't hate them, well even kind of like them. Those little female goblins are cute." Said Neptune.

"I agree on that point." Said the round-nosed goblin.

Neptune looked back at the goblin but continued saying "Anyway, it not like I have anything to do, might as well act as a hero."

'Is Veldora influencing her into a tsundere.' Rimuru claimed internally.

With Neptune approval, Rimuru then declared - "In lieu with Strom Dragon Veldora, I, Rimuru Tempest and Neptune D Tempest accept your wish."

[Notice. Individual Veldora has sent a request to drop the middle name 'D' with a quotation 'I will still not agree to adding the middle name. That is too cool of a name. I also want one if she is having it.] The unique skill <> informed Neptune. Rimuru is similarly notified by his skill <>.

'He is sill on about that. As a human name doesn't hold much meaning but I like the sound of Neptune D Tempest more. <> send Veldora a picture of 'Mr.Bean' smiling from my memory and add the voice recording {I am not dropping the middle name. Do whatever you want.'

[Affirmative.]

Within seconds another notification arrived.

[Individual Veldora's unique skill <> has sent data. Analysing.. Converting.. Image obtained. Record of voice recieved.]

Veldora like Neptune had also sent a picture back of 'Willem Dafoe' with a recording {You can't do this to me!}

Rimuru sighed seeing Neptune and Veldora acting like kids.

In the mean time, the goblins were unaware of the battle raged beteen the human and their guardian diety, they all bowed to Rimuru and Neptune showing their gratitude.
