Chapter 21

"Cruel! Your lover must have run away," Daphne Tjia replied, but continued to peel the prawns in the basin.

Alec himself cleaned the dory fish scales, cutting them into neat fish fillets. Next he cut the squid. Alec had already prepared the vegetables and seasonings when Daphne Tjia had barely finished her work.

"If you want to eat fast, you have to finish it quickly," Alec said.

"Yeah, it's okay!" Daphne Tjia pursed her lips while showing her work.

Alec started the action. He took a frying pan, stirred the oil with the spices. Daphne Tjia cheered enthusiastically while clapping her hands as the fire on Alec's stove lit up on the wok. The man's hands were nimble to process squid, shrimp, and dory fish in his burning frying pan.

"Again, Coach. That's cool!" Daphne Tjia's voice was shrill.
