Justice

Look, the one thing I want in my life is privacy. And it seems like that will be impossible to achieve the way things are going. Like, not even kidding, the moment I walked out the door with Jerome, I saw a line of my servants trying to eavesdrop on the conversation that we were having inside. And to think that the actual Nosir tolerated this shit is just beyond me.

"What the hell are you doing?" I basically screamed to the point that everyone in the household managed to hear that.

"My Lord! We were just worried about your well being." The head maid calmly replied.

To be honest, I really didn't like the vibes that the maid gave out. It was almost borderline cocky. Well, calling it borderline is a travesty, I guess. She's literally cocky. I bet she feels invincible right now. She might be thinking that there's no chance in hell that I'm going to fire her because she is a servant from the palace. But I guess she forgot about one important thing. I'm a freaking prince! And she's gonna learn what a prince can do right now.

"Okay, you were worried about my health and the thing you decided to do was to eavesdrop on my conversation with Jerome. What did you gain from that? Did I get better? No. What are you here for? What is your job supposed to be?" I asked in a quite furious tone.

"We are supposed to serve you, my Lord." The head maid replied and others followed.

"And is this serving? No. This is called blatant disrespect towards the Grand Duke and the second prince of this kingdom. And you know what happens when you tend to disrespect me like that?" I asked.

When she heard what I said, the head maid was quick to get on her knees and beg. "My Lord! Please don't fire me. I have two children-" She went ahead and cried, but it wasn't as if I was gonna care for those crocodile tears.

"Oh, don't worry. I'm not gonna fire you." I had a bright smile on my face as I said that.

"Really?" Seeing the smile on my face, the maid seemed to get that glimmer of hope as well.

However, I guess she didn't expect it to take this turn. "Oh, yea… You're all gonna get killed for disobedience." I replied.

"You can't do this, my Lord!" Every single one of them cried when they heard my verdict.

"Why? Why can't I? And who the hell are you to talk back to me? I mean, it's not like I haven't given you multiple opportunities to do your job diligently, right? And what did you do with that opportunity? You squandered it. And now you have to suffer the consequences for doing that. It's just karma, if you ask me." I shrugged as I spoke.

"My Lord! My kids-" The head maid cried for real this time around.

I just squatted down and stared right into her eyes. "Listen! I don't give a flying shit about your kids." I mumbled, before turning towards the guard who was seemingly terrified of my presence. "You! Drag all of these people outside and just chop their heads off or something. Wait, were you the one guarding my door?" I asked.

"No, my Lord! It was this guy!" He was quick to point at the person next to him.

"I see. Chop his head as well." I replied.

"My Lord! Please forgive me. Your servant made a pure blunder in keeping the security of this place!" The man got on his knees and cried as well.

Look, people make mistakes. And they can change. They can certainly become better people. However, that doesn't mean that everyone will learn from their mistakes and change. For example, these people. They are begging for mercy from me when they have all the opportunity to change. Now, will it be my fault if I just happened to punish a repeated offender? No. I'm just doing the right thing. And to do the right thing, I just have to be ruthless. I can't be swayed by emotions like I was in my past life. I guess I'm adapting to the situation in my hand now. I don't know.

"How many more blunders until someone comes through the front door for my throat, my dear servant? I'm not taking that risk." I replied before turning towards the other guard. "Take him away. Take them all away." I said as I pointed towards everyone else.

The guard nodded his head, before calling in for other guards and they took all those people away from there. All of them were wailing and asking me to ensure justice and all, but isn't this supposed to be the ultimate justice?

"Seems like you are settling in quite nicely." Jerome spoke. "Are you sure about the kill order though? I was expecting you to fire them." He shrugged.

"Well, if I just fired them, other puppets are gonna come in and replace them. It's gonna be the same. I'm making an example out of these people so that the next batch of puppets will be a bit afraid to step foot inside this mansion." I explained.

"Wow, truly ruthless from you." He spoke.

"I mean, I have to be ruthless. Like, if I don't become ruthless even when someone directly aimed for my life, I don't when I should be." I replied.

"True. Are you going to watch the execution then?" He asked.

"Yea, I have to oversee my handiwork after all." I spoke as I headed outside.
