The final time

I felt it, you know? The moment he stopped underestimating me was the moment I actually lost. Because then he got all the more serious. I mean, the only thing that I could do at that point was to stop the inevitable from happening by teleporting over and over again. And it was effective for the first few times, but then the kid started adapting to that tactic as well. I mean, the speed at which he adapted was monstrous. And if I want to survive another fight against him, I would've to get better and there's just no other way around it.

"You did a good fight." He mumbled.

Look, I know he said it with all the good intentions, but it really did hurt my ego, you know? Hearing someone way better than you say that you did a good fight makes it sound like pity at times. But I had no choice other than to just swallow up my pride and listen to it because it's a kid saying it and I don't wanna hurt a kid's innocence.

"Thank you." I sighed as I said that.
