Apeke was pleasantly surprised to see Michael and not the intruders . Thank the gods! What made her think those monsters could succeed in attacking them anyway? They were obviously stronger.
She was happy to see Micheal. It had only been a day since she had last seen him but it felt like centuries. A lot had happened within that one day.Seeing him now made her just want to run to him and hug him tight, forget reality for a moment and just enjoy how good he makes her feel.
Apekeola didn't understand her thoughts. Did she really have feelings for a man she just met. How could that even happen? She hardly knew him. Yet,she wished he would ask to take her far away from there ,so she could finally be free.
Her father cleared his throat, returning her attention to him."And this is?"
"This is Michael. We met at the palace."Apeke replied her father.
"I have to go now ,Apeke. It was nice to meet you Michael."
"Likewise,sir."
He really left just like that? She couldn't believe it. Her father had always been execively protective of her especially when it had to do with boys. So ,her father's sudden trust in her came as a surprise to her . Gazing at his retreating figure, she recalled him telling her,"As a parent , I can't always force you to do as I say. What happens when I'm not there? I can only teach you and hope you will follow the right path." at a younger age.
Was this what he was speaking of? Was he letting her choose her path now?
"Ehem."He had been trying to get her attention for a while now but she seemed so distracted ,lost in thought.
"Oh,sorry. I just spaced out for a minute there. "
"What's wrong?"
Apeke was worried. Had he heard her talking to her father? She didn't think he had but he knew something was definitely up. Should she tell him? Would he stop talking to her if she did?
