Twenty-Six

"There was once a princess in the kingdom of Majekodunmi. She felt trapped. She didn't go out often, you see. She wasn't allowed to. It was all for her protection, they would say. She didn't listen to them and would still sneak out.

"They told her the outside world was dangerous. They told her the world was filled with wolves that were just waiting to hurt her but she never listened. She didn't believe them. After all,all she saw when she sneaked out was beauty ,all she saw were the good parts until she started going deeper and deeper into the world did she finally understand.

"On the day our princess was finally going to find the love she had heard and read about, dreamed of ,even, she had left the palace angrily as a result of the heated conversation she had with her mother. They were arranging her marriage to someone she didn't even know. She knew this was coming eventually but she thought she still had time.

"Anger makes one careless. She usually wore a cloak with her to hide her identity. She didn't want anybody that had gone to the palace before recognise her. She had just celebrated her birthday and the whole kingdom had been invited so she was sure people could recognise her now. Yet,she went out without a cloak and without any guards. She felt so stupid.

"She tries to be as discreet as possible, trying not to draw any unwanted attention to herself but she failed. She was concentrating so much on hiding her face that she wasn't looking at the way well enough and ended up bumping into someone.

"Our princess felt as if luck was really not on her side. Her day wasn't going well at all. Bad things kept happening to her. She couldn't believe her luck when she bumped into the filth of the kingdom. He is was a drunk who had no respect for women, whatsoever.

' Hey! Watch were you're going girl.' He said.

'I'm sorry.' She said and tried to leave immediately but she stopped when he grabbed her hands and pushed her back to where she was standing before.

'That's it? We're you not thought how to apology to a man? Did your mother teach you nothing? kneel down on your two knees and apologize.'

"The princess was mortified. Kneel for him? Hell would freeze before she would even imagine doing that. She had her pride and dignity to protect. She couldn't bow down to him. He was a scum on the earth. He should not have even been able to talk to her. If only she had taken her cloak, then all this wouldn't have happened.

"If she had taken her cloak, then she wouldn't have been so focused on keeping her identity a secret and end up bumping into this excuse of man.

'I can't do that. Once again,I apologise.' She said and tried to leave but she was stopped once again by him holding her hand and pulling her back and this time he was even rougher. She fell and he stalker towards her quicker than she could catch her breath.

"The look in his eyes made her realise the position she was in and the amount of danger she was in. She was alone here because she had taken a path that was bearly used so she wouldn't have to meet people. Now ,she was trapped because of what seemed like a brilliant plan just minutes ago.

'The princess can't kneel for someone beneath her,can she? I'll make you beg me to kneel for me woman! Do you think you can get away with everything just because you're royalty? Where are your guards? Does our princess plan on running away?'

"She ignored his questions. He knew she was a royal, yet he was doing this to her. Was he not scared?

'You will be punished for this.'She threatened.

'No,I won't be because you aren't going to speak about this to a soul. Not that you can because if you do it would become almost impossible for you to leave the palace and you wouldn't risk that.'

"He was right but if he took things too far she wasn't even sure she'd care so much about going into the outside world;the world outside her walls.

'You don't want to bet your life on that.' She warned.

'You should listen to her.' Her savior said.

A/N

To whoever the hell is reading this, thank you. I don't think I would have come this far if the number of views didn't increase.

This past month has made me realise that I can't do what most Webnovel authors do. I can't publish as regularly as I should,I guess my life is way too chaotic and I'm not ready to give up on my books,so I'm going to take a break instead. I'll complete the book first,so I can make regular updates.

I promise I'll be back in less than four months,I hope people will still be interested by then though.

So, adieus!!🙋🙋
