No way out

The veiled woman came to herself as soon as the memories finished playing like a damaged VCR, but it was hard for her to shake the surreal feeling.

The world in her head felt as real and familiar as the world she was standing in now.

It was as if her body and soul were in two different places but functioning as one at the same time, and the last memories of her soul were slowly merging with her body.

Her senses came back one by one, starting with her sight, then smell, touch, and so on, until the weight of her body in the current reality fully settled.

The woman blinked several times, taking in the violet paradise in front of her. The exquisite scent of lavender wafted through her nose, relaxing her body and mind. The whisper of the tall plants being swayed by the wind conveyed a comforting feeling that loosened her muscles. She then rested her right hand on her chest, feeling her ragged breathing settle down.
