Disappointment

The woman's brow furrowed in disgust at the last, but she didn't censor the beasts chattering around her. While their point of view might be exaggerated, it wasn't wrong either.

"Well? I'm still waiting for a good excuse, sir paladin," she said as she crossed her legs on the ground and rested her chin on the palm of her hand, her posture being a mix between boredom and expectation as she waited for an answer.

She said it herself, 'excuse'.

The woman was not seeking to hear a reasonable explanation from the man but was interested in knowing what excuse he would give to justify his rude actions.

The paladin understood at once and nibbled his lower lip uncomfortably. His head remained lowered and his violet eyes did not stray from the ground, wishing he could find a hole in the earth to swallow him up.

Humiliation and regret clouded his face, regretting that he had acted so recklessly.
