Jailbreak

In a blink, the landscape had returned to normal; no strange plants, floating hills, or aggressive torrents. Just burned hills with craters from old explosions and a narrow stream that ran down to the camp.

"What the hell is going on?" Valderik grumbled, feeling his head spin.

Elian shook his head and blinked a few times, focusing his gaze on where Ludo was before, however, he could only see the figure of a small green beast.

"Damn, we lost her," the lieutenant complained. They were so close, but because the landscape kept changing, even flying in a straight line was difficult.

Now that the danger had passed, Valderik ordered the aella to descend to the ground.

"Miss, say 'chi' if you're still alive," the captain said as soon as his mount landed. He then jumped out of the saddle and lifted the poor dirt-filled beast off the ground.

(...Shut up), growled the little ula.
