Heavy load

Faint glowing lines were traced in the air, drawing one rune next to the other to form a line. Upon completion of the sentence, the runes spun into a spiral shape.

Both captains tossed the spiral over their heads, and the other warriors followed suit, leaving their hands outstretched in the air.

The spirals were overlapping; each time one was added, the rune spiral grew, until it completely covered the area where the platoon was.

"Now!" Risna bellowed and abruptly dropped her hand, pointing at the ground.

As they all mimicked her, the runic spiral curved until it formed a dome around them. The runes were traced on the ground, leaving only a ring outlining the space they occupied as proof of its existence.

The runes then glowed red, indicating that the barrier had been successfully raised.
