Worried boss (2)

Vera seemed to enjoy the suspense of revealing one detail at a time.

Would she do so at the agency as well? For sure, she had no hurry with them. And she didn't need to, in the end. They treated her badly.

They didn't deserve a quick solution.

As for Neven, he enjoyed listening to her. Hearing one detail at a time meant they would chat longer. To him, it was fine.

But he had to ensure she didn't do so when she was on a mission with someone else. Either he found a way to be the only one travelling with her, or he increased the bonus for a quickly solved mission.

She seemed weak to bonuses. Was that the right direction?

Vera observed the plate, and then Neven. He wasn't eating, lost in his considerations. She curled her lips downwards, wondering whether she had chosen wrong.

Just as she started looking for a way to get up and find something else for him, he reached out to the plate and started eating.
