Vera covered herself again as soon as the doctor was done with the examination. The medicine he gave her was starting to have some effect, so she wasn't trembling anymore. However, with her back covered by sweat, the air felt chilly on her skin.

«You must be tired,» the doctor commented. «There seems to be nothing wrong with your lungs, and you're breathing regularly. Does your throat ache very much?»

She shook her head, observing him with wary eyes. What was he going to do next? He had listened to her check, checked her pulse, and measured the temperature. It was over, wasn't it? She wasn't sure what doctors would do, though.

«Not very much. It was just annoying, this morning. I thought it would pass, but now I have a fever.»

«Do you eat fruits?» the doctor inquired, looking at her with a keen eye. «Vegetables? Meat?»
