An acquaintance

Vera had never been to Spain. It was too far from her comfort zone: she knew well enough all the creatures living in Central and Eastern Europe, had enough clues about those in Northern and had learnt a lot while in Italy about the local beasts. However, the Western part of the continent was a mystery to her.

She knew there existed similar legends as in the rest of the continent, but she hadn't ventured there to meet any of those. However, she felt familiar while observing the pictures with the ritual and the runes. She could read that language, meaning it wasn't a Spanish ritual.

Someone from another place had brought it there, and they had decided to perform the ritual in Spain because of the presence of witches. No place had as many of them as that country, despite the long tradition of witch-hunts and the Inquisition.
