The right moment

Yavan was there, but he didn't interfere with the battle. Seemingly, Vera's words had hit the right spot. He sat on the bench, glaring at the kids' toys and wondering what to do to make the humans pay for the offence.

The simple fact that he was there would bring the people from the agency to them, so Vera didn't lower her guard while keeping the supernatural creatures at bay. They would occasionally attempt an attack, then get burned and retreat.

It was tiring, and Vera's failure would have meant losing. They were at a disadvantage, compared to the beasts that were more and had all the time in the world.

«I need your help,» Vera said, finally sitting in front of Neven. «The agency will send someone here to regain control over the situation. They might even make it look like they were saving the world and not the cause of the problem.»

«What should I do?» Neven asked.
