Was his mate in danger?

"Furs? On the couch? This is not Jamie's fur. Owwww she has a husband now!" Eleanor laughed while she spoke.

She found the furs tucked in the couch.

But Alan frowned because he knew who Jamie was and he knew both the wolf and its human forms hated company. So if there was fur found inside this house, it could be an intruder. He couldn't also smell it.

"Let me see, hand it over," Alan almost grabbed it from her hand, aggressively.

He had held his breath. He was not having a good feeling about it.

He brought it closer to his nose. His senses suddenly became defensive. He couldn't smell where the fur was from and who it was.

Why would they hide their smell when entering someone else's house? Which werewolves dared to trespass in this manner? Who were they after? Him or his mate?

Or perhaps, was it here for Jamie? It was only time for all her enemies to come, looking for her. Lolly made enemies everywhere she went.
