Alan was waiting for Lolly and Eleanor to arrive at work. He was confident Lolly would look after his mate as she had promised.
He recalled had had an uneasy feeling in his chest before receiving the call from Lolly. It wasn't as suffocating as it would have been if she were in danger, but something didn't feel right.
His wolf was fine, better than fine. As a result, they knew that whatever they were feeling was the result of the energy they were receiving from their mate.
Was she all right? He wanted to go straight to her house, but his phone rang before he could reach for his coat.
Lolly's name appeared on the screen, and he quickly picked it up.
"Speak!" His tone must have irritated her because she did not follow his instructions. That little girl was annoying!
He sighed, his chest still heaving. If anything, he was aware that Lolly was currently with Eleanor.
