Was she ready to see Alan?

Alan paced in front of her porch, not knowing whether to knock or not; heck! He was not thinking about knocking, he was thinking about what he could do to solve this mess.

"Hey, Alan!" A voice drew him out of his thoughts. He couldn't say anything back, he just stood there, looking at her.

"You look awful!" He was feeling it too: he felt awful.

"Is she asleep, Lolly?" He found himself asking, his throat was very dry that he didn't even want to speak loudly.

"No, she woke up from the sleep she had when Diana brought her home. She was having nightmares. And I doubt she'd be sleeping now," Lolly's voice was also as low as she could ever sound.

The look on Alan's face told her he was going through a lot.
