Eleanor wiped the plate clean. Usually, Alan would have smiled if she had eaten every grain of rice on her plate; which she always did anyways but today, he didn't look even impressed.

 

And he didn't eat too. Was he that mad?

 

"Won't you eat as well?" She questioned him as she carefully dropped the spoon on the plate. Her eyes watched him as an awkward feeling settled inside her chest.

 

"I already ate. I can't go hungry for long," Alan's reply sounded dry, and she nodded. But she swore he hugged her throughout her sleep. When did he leave the bed to eat?

She slept soundly even though she woke up with an ache. She didn't notice he had left the bed or even smelt an aroma of food. But Alan would not lie about eating when he hadn't, right?
