Chapter 6

No matter how much he thought, Haru was in big trouble. Currently, his ride reached the end of the forest.

He let the ride, an animal with two legs and a weird head that looked similar to a dragon, started drinking from the river.

Haru opened the storage. There were a few empty bottles. He hadn't taken so much food with him, other than the one his mother gave him.

While he started filling the bottle with water, his mind drifted to the battle he had fought.

It was his first time fighting, and he hardly made it out alive.

Now that he killed them, he will become wanted. The Fire Nation was all about honour. They won't rest until they find Haru and publicly execute him, or force him to spend his life in a prison… the last option didn't sound bad since he is a metalbender now.

Few emotions started stirring up. He was angry at himself. He was in this situation because he had let his emotions take over him yesterday.

Shin had told him to fuck himself and his mom, and he had reacted based on instinct.

Had he not punched that Shin, he wouldn't have been here and his mother wouldn't have cried for him to leave for his life.

Just remembering that, Haru clenched his fist and punched a near rock. His frustration with himself was so much. With each punch, his fist was bleeding.

'I won't wait for that Avatar to fucking awake.' Haru dived more into his previous life's memories. Somehow, he found that he couldn't like the Avatar anymore, nor trust him as the saviour.

The Avatar caused the hindered year war to last, just because he was unable to handle responsibility.

The Avatar had a chance also to end up the war while learning the Avatar state. But because of his little crush on Katara, he didn't master the state.

How the war ended… Haru scoffed… because of something called plot armour.

Had the avatar not gotten that rock hitting his spin to unlock his Chakra point, the Fire Lord would have burned him alive.

Because of his memories, Haru now knows about the butterfly effect, and how much things would change from the other timeline because of his little actions.

He couldn't trust the Avatar with the responsibility.

Haru looked at his reflection on the water, his narrowed eyebrows, his clenched teeth. He took a deep breath, his sadness and regrets had turned into anger.

'There is that Conqueror guy, surpassing him would make things better for me.'

Done from filling up the water, he threw everything into the storage. He took a bottle and started drinking.

[Health +5]

He wiped his mouth and stared at the sky.

He turned his head to the animal, and he asked. "You know where to head now?"

"Prrffff…" the animal replied, before bowing its head and drinking from the river.

"I guessed as much," Haru muttered as he sat down. He decided it was not time for emotions, as there are many things he has to consider now that he is free to move.

First of all, he needed a direction to go into. He needed to plan for something to do, and he need to figure out a way to level up. And to raise in levels, he needs a suitable environment do to that - a place that is full of enemies and monsters.

Also, he had noticed that during his battle, his bending was superior to the Firebenders. But he was slower than them, and his physical skills and movements were lacking.

This could be fixed by raising agility, through training or points.

But that wouldn't be suitable for his class. Since his class is an Earthbender, it would be better to focus on Wisdom and Physique.

On the good side, he can raise his agility by training and learning martial arts.

He had heard stories about women mastering martial arts that allow them to fight firebenders. They were very agile, and they could climb high buildings and mountains by jumping between their parts. They use fans and swords as their weapons, and they practise secret martial arts.

Kyoshi Island is named after Avatar Kyoshi.

It exists in the south of the Earth Kingdom. He can reach it after going south of Omashu Kingdom.

He knew this from the Last Airbender show memories.

But there are two problems.

He doesn't have a flying bison to fly him down.

And he doesn't have a map in the first place.

But luckily, this isn't One Piece world, so one can easily determine the directions.

Haru looked at the sky. The sun was leaning to the left. Since it was the early morning, the sun would be in the east direction.

He looked back, in his village direction. So that must be the north.

If Haru continued heading forward, it means he is in the south direction.

So it's decided that he will continue heading South, find a way to sail to Kyoshi's island, and then, learn martial arts there.

There is one more reason Haru wanted to go.

There is that large sea monster.

If Haru fought and defeated him, he will have a huge boost in his levels.

Moreover, the road is full of dangers. That is what makes it better for him.

So it is decided.

[Ding, a quest had been added]

On the sudden quest, he chose yes. He won't say no to free experience.

Haru cracked his fingers and took his shoes off. Closing his eyes, he stepped into the river and extended his hands in different directions. He could, with his feet, see things around him. His feet were connected to the ground, the ground was connected to the water, and the water was connected to the fishes.

Closing his eyes and sensing the earth was the best way to train his Earthbending.

The range was slowly increasing, and Haru could sense the fishes. He moved two fingers, lifting a small rock, and moved his fingers left and right.

Soon, a fish flew out of the water… but soon it went back.

Haru took a deep breath, and he decided to do this again and again.

Half Hour later, there was a pile of fish out the river.

[Earthbending up to level 7 (500/3200)]

When he reached this level, his sensing range increased. In his mind, the shapes of the creatures and the surroundings became better.

He was sure with this, his metalbending training would level up. Since Metalbending was an associated skill with the Earthbending, levelling up the latter would help him train the first. Haru got out of the river and picked up half of the fish to store them. He then threw the rest to the animal, which gladly accepted them and pushed its head to Haru, who patted it.

"Okay, buddy, let's leave."

Haru jumped, crossed the river, and then headed in the south direction.

While moving, he was thinking about the points he gained from levelling up.

How should he spend them?

He thought about his best offence skill, the Swords Spiral Ring. It had cut the Fire Nation soldiers in half with their armours. It can even help him create 4 swords. Even though it consumes more Chi when used to the fullest, it was a cool skill. Putting one point to it will increase his power.

[Spiral Swords Ring level 10 (0/24000)]

[Associated Skills can be created from this skill. Points can be used to help.]

Holy Chi. It needs 24000 experience points to get into the next level.

There was something else.

It needs 2 skill points to get to the 11th level.

Should he… No. He shook his head.

As for the Associated Skills option, he will look later for it.

He decided to put the rest of the Skill Points in Metalbending. But before that, he needed to reach the fourth level.

According to his experience, he noticed that it's easy to bypass the first levels by training. But it will get slower starting from the fourth level. It's better to start using Skill Points starting from the fourth level.

At any rate, he is in no hurry… Since his ride was a large animal, he lied on its back, opened his palm, opened the system, and summoned a few coins. Closing his eyes and feeling the earth's substance in it, he started focusing on bending it.

[Metalbending up to level 2…]

It had required him many days to discover it, to train his earth sensing, but more like a half-hour to level it up.

While lying down on his back, Haru had his Chi regenerating while training. Also, by increasing his wisdom, his Chi regenerating rate had increased so that he could get 100 Chi points back each minute.

It was a very good way to train.

When it levelled up to level two, the gains in the skill became slower.

But on the good side, Haru had all the time he needs, well, until he finds a village at least.

[Metal Bending up to level 3]

[Metal Bending up to level 4]

Haru was happy that it reached this level. Now it's time to put the skill points into use.

[Metal Bending up to level 8]

He now should be considered an expert when it comes to metalbending.

By this time, the sun was setting.

Looking at the coins between his fingers, Haru was reshaping them as he liked while making them float.

Haru thought, and the coin started bending, becoming smaller. Haru opened the system, and he saw that he got good experience gain on Compress, more than when he usually compresses dirt or rocks.

"Grrrr…." The animal let a howl. Haru sat up and patted it, making it stop. Haru could see the shadow of a village, and he could tell that it didn't belong to the Fire Nation.

How can he tell that? Well. The air was also fresh and clear, meaning it belonged to the Earth Kingdom.

Haru let a long sigh. "Finally."

He now has to get a map and then start his journey.

No, he won't start, there is one little thing he must do before that.
