Chapter 65

Haru smiled when he thought about his village. After a day of fast travel, he was getting near to it. He thought about meeting his family, maybe he may make up with Luna. At any rate, Haru was in high morale.

"You look happy, not as stiff as usual."

"Excuse me?" Haru turned to Suki and raised his eyebrow.

Suki chuckled. "You don't look like a serious king or prince."

"Now I'm just a wanderer." Haru shrugged his shoulders and smiled. "By the way, you will meet my mom and dad."

Suki opened her eyes widely. "What should I cook?"

"Nothing." Haru chuckled.

Haru found a small mountain range. His earth board floating higher, he could pass by it with ease and speed. Haru descended from the mountain and appeared in one village, which happened to be the one he'd freed.

"Let's eat something before continuing," Haru said as he stopped in the middle of the village.

The people were smiling at Haru whenever he passed.

"You seem to be known in this place," remarked Kyoshi.

"I have saved these people from the influence of some stray earth soldiers," Haru said as he waved his hand.

"Wow, you never told me that." Suki expressed her wonder.

"Guess you are better than you appear when you are king." Kyoshi smiled a bit.

Haru talked a bit with the citizens, before heading to one restaurant and ordering food.

Haru saw someone sitting by the corner whose eye was covered in a patch.

It was one of Haru's bandit followers.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Haru said as he walked to him.

The guy opened his eye widely. "Boss!"

"Why aren't you in the base, just like I've ordered?" Haru said with a gentle voice.

The guy rubbed his neck. "Sir, I'm so sorry. I couldn't hold to your orders, and I am stupid."

"What happened?"

"Your village has been surrounded. The prison rig was the first place to be attacked, and the Fire Nation brought a large army with them. The village is holding up, and the metalbenders are the only ones protecting us. I couldn't stay there. Knowing that you put that poison in my drink, I thought, fuck it, I'm going to die anyway, so I escaped. I was too hungry!"

"Too hungry!"

"The villagers can't leave, how are we supposed to provide ourselves with food."

Haru held the guy from his collar and lifted him. "Tell me, are my mother and father okay."

"Well, I don't know. They weren't eating well, and Tyro was leading the metalbenders. The wall is holding up, but the people need to eat."

"How about Omashu's soldiers."

"They are starving as well."

Haru, not caring about the bandit anymore, threw him out of the window. Because of Haru's superior physique, the man was sent flying into another building.

Suki put her hands on her mouth. "This is so bad!"

"It seems that knowing they can't face me directly, the Fire Nation sent a large army to take over my village, using my parents as hostages. Oh very well, they are going to die."

"Haru, calm down." Kyoshi interrupted. "You don't want to let your emotions get the best of you. Don't make it cloud your judgement. Think like a leader."

"Oh, I'll do. I'll make those guys pay every penny for the day my village didn't eat."

Haru lose his appetite and got out of the restaurant.

After he summoned another earth board, Suki rode it after him, and they headed western south. With his current level, it didn't take long for Haru to arrive. He'd been travelling for a long time with the board, and his skill levelled up each day or two.

After crossing the well and the forest, Haru arrived at the road that led to his village. He could notice the metal wall, that he and the villagers had built.

Around his village, there were armies. On the beach, there were many large ships that sailed. The soldiers were making a turn around the village. Whenever a man or a woman appeared on the wall, a few fire soldiers would shoot fire at them. Occasionally, Haru saw a bunch of metal pipes flying from the village and falling on the soldiers, piercing their armour.

Metalbenders surely can take care of a small army. But they can't fight a whole army like this one. Haru noticed that there were around 8 ships.

"My reincarnation, is here?" Kyoshi muttered, and Haru turned his face to her. "I didn't feel my spirit being summoned."

After some metal pipes pierced the armours, a bunch of the fire soldiers held a few bottles that had alcohol within them. They lit them up with fire and threw them up the wall.

At that moment, a stream of cold wind danced in the air. It was compressed that it was easy to see. It turned off the fire.

A Childish voice came from the village. "We don't have to do this. Just let these people eat something."

Linking Kyoshi's words with the stream of air he had seen, Haru realised that the Avatar Aang may be in his village.

"Suki, get in, I have to do something." Haru lifted Suki on his shoulder and ran forward.

"Hold on!" Suki said, surprised.

Haru was so fast compared to a normal human. His speed was many times faster than before, thanks to the agility he'd gotten and the Wind Shoes. It reminded him to open the boxes he had. At any rate, Haru got between the soldiers and reached the wall. He started running vertically on it, and he got above it. He flipped and threw Suki inside the village. Suki backflipped and landed on her feet. Haru turned to the Fire Nation soldiers, who were surprised to see him.

The villagers, from inside, could see his back too.

"Haru!"

"Boss!"

"You are back."

The people back called. Haru turned and glanced at them. The villagers were there, and they were thinner than he remembered them. His father was there.

In the middle of the village, there was a young monk-looking kid. Next to him, there were a taller guy and a girl. Both were tanned and had blue eyes. They stared at him.

Haru turned his face to the soldiers that were surrounding this side of the wall. They seemed worried from him. They lifted their hands in guard. They were a few hundred. It meant that they can get around 50.000 to 80.000 exp from them.

That would be enough for him to get nearer to level 26.

Other than that, he may brainwash them to become his servants. It seemed to be a good idea to use them as his soldiers.

But first, he has to venture his anger.

"Haru…" one of the soldiers muttered in fear.

Haru jumped off the wall and landed down. He stared at everyone in front of him, not seeming to be the one at a disadvantage.

He activated one of his best skills. Since it was at a rather higher level, it had a wider range. Haru lowered the rate of gravity to three times and increased the range to 4 meters around him.

"You guys have chosen the wrong guy and the wrong village." He walked slowly toward them.

The fire soldiers took their fighting stances and shoot fire. But the gravity pulled it down. Some threw weapons, and they missed Haru as the earth grabbed them.

Whenever he walked, soldiers fell on their heads, the earth cracking from their new weight.

Since they were wearing armours, the effect of the gravity on them was more damaging. Some had their bones cracked, and some started bleeding.

[Gravity Field up to level 15]

[Gravitybending up to level 11]

After a series of notifications, Haru's gravity bending became stronger.

The fire soldiers seemed to be very confused as they only fell. Their numbers made them a good experience farm. Haru continued cultivating his gravitybending and his skills.

Haru bent the ground to break the bones of those who fell and got out of his range.

The remaining hundreds of soldiers seemed to realise what happened. Out of 300 ones, only a hundred remained standing.

Haru, pointing his hands at them, started pulling down. The gravity increased beneath their feet without them realising.

Having increased his wisdom in the desert library made Haru unwary about his energy consumption.

[Pull up to level 9]

Other than his skills, Haru could bend gravity with basic movement. He created a circle and span, creating a gravity field around him. The soldiers started flying toward him with the dust and piece of earth. Even weapons came toward him. Just as they were about to reach him, he waved his hands down, and everyone was pinned to the earth.

Haru didn't reach level 25, but he was close to it.

"Wow." Behind Haru and from the air, appeared a young kid.

Haru didn't need to look behind him to know who.

"What are you doing here?" He frowned.

"Ah. Mister Haru. It's the first time we meet. I have been on my way here with my friend, and I saw this village being surrounded, so I was helping them. But man, the villagers were right. You are really the best earthbender around. " This was Aang.

Haru turned and walked passed the avatar. This wall had 3 more sides, and he needed to finish the soldiers on them.

"Just don't get in my way." Haru simply said.

"Excuse yourself."

He heard a different voice.

He turned, and instead of Aang, he saw a large woman. Kyoshi was there, in her warrior attire.

"Did you just?" Haru asked Kyoshi, who seemed unpleasant about how he treated her reincarnation.

"Posses him and takes over his body. Yes. This kid still needs to learn the elements, and his level is lacking. Taking over him will allow me to use my power as if I was alive." Kyoshi said. "it's not the first time this happens to an Avatar."

"So be it." Haru smiled. "Just don't kiss me in that form."

"Oh, you wish." Kyoshi exhaled a scoffing laugh.
