"Mom, Tommy and I can't get there yet. Because suddenly, Tommy has a client to meet and I as his secretary have to accompany him," Becca said on the phone.
"Ah... I see. Too bad. I really wanted to see you two. But well, that's fine. Next time will be okay. Now, I want to talk to him."
Becca was silent for a moment as she looked at Tommy who was silent because he had just woken up. Then she gave her cell phone to her ex-boyfriend and chose to leave him to get ready.
After Becca finished bathing, she glanced at Tommy that he had finished talking to Nora, her mother. She could breathe a sigh of relief but she was ready to scold Tommy for sleeping by her side all night without her knowing.
"Don't do it again," Becca said.
"What?"
"Sleep by my side. I don't want to. It's clear that your place is in the bedroom and I am on the couch, Tommy."
"I have no choice," replied Tommy, shrugging his shoulders. He did push-ups in front of Becca, showing his seductive muscles and reminding her that in the past, whenever Tommy pushed up, Becca was always underneath him, teasing him and challenging him.
She swallowed her saliva and turned her gaze to the mirror to make up for herself. "If you don't have a choice, you're not a real man."
Tommy stopped his push-ups while he was downstairs. He looked at Becca, then stood up and approached her. He turned Becca's dressing chair so that it was facing him, who was already sweating.
"Ow!" shouted Becca, startled.
They stared at each other for a moment with their hearts pounding. But Tommy showed his stern face accompanied by seriousness. "Rebecca... like it or not, we're already under the same roof. We'll share everything in this apartment. Nothing has changed, beautiful. You know that, right?"
Even Tommy's hand caressed her cheek with a sensation that conveyed the warmth she felt. She closed her eyes and then she began to remember what Tommy had called her? Beautiful?
She immediately opened her eyes, looking at Tommy who was still admiring her face. "Back off," said Becca. She then turned her chair back to face the mirror.
Tommy stood up and sighed. He entered the bathroom and began to feel the anxiety he had been holding back for so long. He paced there nervously. "Did she hear what I said earlier? I called her beautiful, while I was bored and said that her beauty is fading? Damn it! How could I lose control?" he whispered.
He hoped Becca hadn't heard. Because of what he saw, Becca didn't even talk about it. It was clear, though, that Becca had really heard him and was confused herself.
Becca left for work first. She really wasn't waiting for Tommy to go with him anymore. Her heart still felt crushed and this morning it was completely broken because of Tommy.
She couldn't forget it. She loved him very much and it felt like she wanted to beg for love to come back. But if she recalled how she got her heart hurt for painful reasons too, she refrained herself from begging for love.
When entering the office, Becca met with Drake. The man, a man who was a close friend of Tommy's, was silent. He didn't dare talk to Becca again after yesterday's incident. Because Drake also knew that he was wrong for covering up Tommy's affair with Paige.
"Becca, come here," one of her co-workers, but also her friend and Tommy, whose name is Anie, called out to her. She was the receptionist from Tommy's office. And when she saw Becca coming out of the toilet around the lobby, she called out to her.
Becca approached and entered the large reception desk. "What's the matter, An?"
"Actually I didn't want to interfere. But I wanted to tell you that Tommy is fighting with Paige's boyfriend now. Ah, actually I don't know if Paige has a boyfriend or not, but they're outside and the guy's like he doesn't-"
"Becca!" shouted Anie.
Yes! Becca immediately exited the office and searched the crowd where she immediately saw Tommy with Paige and one man she knew, someone who was close to Paige, but they weren't dating.
Becca immediately separated Tommy and Eddie at that very moment. "What is this?" Becca asked. Even if the problem was Paige and Tommy's closeness, Becca didn't see Paige touch Tommy to separate him from Eddie. In fact, she was the one who hugged Eddie.
Eddie didn't answer right away. His breath hitched with a face that Tommy had hit. Tommy only hurt a little at the corner of his lip. He was as angry as Eddie. And Becca was still holding his body, not to attack Eddie.
"I heard you broke up with him, Becca," Eddie said.
"Can you confirm whether or not, that you broke up with him because of Paige?" Eddie asked.
Becca swallowed. He looked at Paige who looked at her begging not to tell him.
"Who told you? Where did you hear the news?" Becca asked.
"Nobody told me, but I saw for myself and started to find out before I beat him."
Becca sighed. On the one hand, she couldn't bear to see Tommy injured and bleeding. She wanted to save him, but when she saw Paige, she remembered everything.
"Ed, what's the deal with you and Paige? You and she obviously aren't dating, are you? Why did you have to hit Tommy?" Becca asked.
Eddie was immediately petrified on the spot. Becca's words clearly made him aware of his position. But the fire of anger in his heart, burning because it was clear that he and Paige had a close relationship, had a special relationship even though they didn't make it official.
"I'm sorry, Ed. But clearly what you did was wrong."
Becca immediately left by grabbing Tommy's hand, away from them and the crowd of people watching their fight earlier. She was just silent with anger inside of her. Even though she felt hurt, her heart moved to treat the wound on Tommy's face.
They entered the office, all stared at them in silence. No one asked or said hello. And Becca made Tommy sit on his couch, in his office room. She then took the medical supplies to the medicine box.
Tommy was silent without wincing in pain. He looked at Becca who was so skillful in treating him. In fact, his heart was beating fast.
"This is your first time fighting over a girl," Becca said.
"I wasn't wrong."
"Ah, right... you're not wrong in front of Ed because he has nothing to do with Paige," Becca replied, then fell silent because she almost wanted to say something to Tommy, which her ex-boyfriend probably never thought of.
"Say what you want to say, Rebecca."
Becca glanced at him briefly, then she finished treating him. "I hope you've thought about it before I said it. I mean, maybe this is your karma because you've never felt the slightest bit guilty."
