Becca really felt the awkwardness. This was the second time Tommy had really been nimble to save her after they broke up. And she was even sitting on Tommy's couch right now after she made sure she was all right.
Tommy didn't say anything either but he watched Becca, afraid that something might happen to her again. His hands were folded across his chest as he leaned against his desk.
"Actually why did it have to relapse? What happened to you?" asked Tommy, who was more curious.
But Becca didn't answer. Maybe her asthma flared up because she thought so much about every detail of her revenge plan against her ex-girlfriend. Maybe it was because she was thinking so hard, that it made it hard for her to breathe that her asthma flare up unexpectedly.
"I'm not going to force you to talk about what you're dealing with. But I'm just used to listening to your complaints. We've been together a long time, Rebecca. We tell each other stories," Tommy explained.
"That was then. It's different now. I think I'm good now. I'm going out," Becca said. She stood up and adjusted her clothes. Tommy didn't stop her. He let Becca out because this time he didn't want to argue with her anymore.
On her desk, Becca saw that there was already coffee and mineral water and flowers which oddly enough, she didn't know who had prepared all of it. She looked at all her co-workers who were focused on the monitor screen without looking at her.
Her brow furrowed as she wondered who had prepared all this, especially the flower part.
Becca walked over to the receptionist. She knew, usually, the receptionist knows everything about going in and out of someone by bringing the necessary items.
"Anie," said Becca.
"Hey, Bec! Are you all right."
Becca nodded her head. "Who put flowers on my desk? Coffee and mineral water?" asked Becca directly.
"I got everything ready, Bec."
"Who told you to?"
Annie's face immediately changed. "I'm sorry, I was told not to tell you. No matter how small the clue. I can't tell you."
She bit her inside lip as she tapped her fingers on the receptionist's desk. Her brain started to think and figure out who ordered Anie until she couldn't tell who ordered it.
"Okay. Thank you, An."
"My suggestion is," Anie suddenly spoke as Becca turned to return to her desk. She stopped and looked at Anie. "You'd better enjoy what's laid out in front of you. I think there's something in that bouquet too."
"Thanks again, An."
That was all Becca said in response. She didn't care about the contents of the bouquet or whatever. All she thought was, who had such an idea?
But unfortunately, she had no choice. She finally put the flower in a place proper enough for it to see. After all, having a gerbera daisy is not a bad thing.
Moreover, the meaning of the flower is quite broad. And she who just felt her asthma relapse then became enthusiastic about working again.
Becca then remembered that Anie said that there was something in the flower. She tried looking for it and found a small envelope with the small paper printed on it.
Her brow furrowed as she read every sentence written on the paper in the envelope.
"You know that daisy means encouragement. So, I want you to cheer up even though you're feeling weak right now because of your asthma."
She swallowed hard and tucked the envelope into her desk drawer. For some reason, her heart was pounding because the small paper of the envelope really told her that the sender was an office insider.
"But, who?" she asked and thought to herself.
***
As much as possible Becca really got out of the office before Tommy came out of his office room. But Tommy was never too late to follow her. He was always one step ahead of Becca with a strong determination to pull Becca back into his arms.
But what Becca thought was that she made it out of the office without Tommy following her. In fact, she had no promises to anyone. She just wanted to go to the salon and beautify herself once a week. All that had been done since breaking up.
She admitted that when she and Tommy were together, Becca rarely took care of herself because she was so busy with her job as Tommy's secretary. And because she was too tired to work, she never had time to beautify herself, but immediately rested when she saw the bed.
And now, she could manage time and everything. She did her best to finish important tasks and then beautify herself to make Tommy really regret it.
"I want to get the full package," Becca told the cashier after choosing what treatment she would like to do.
"Okay, miss. Is there anything extra?"
Becca started to think and went back to reading the complete package she bought. "Ah, nail polish, please. Once that's done."
"Sure. We will do it. You can immediately join the therapist, miss. Enjoy your time."
"Thank you!"
When Tommy caught up and found out what Becca was doing, he shook his head in annoyance. He was deceived by Becca's words which had made him very jealous. In fact, Becca only went to the salon for treatment.
"How come she is now so diligent in doing the treatment?" he asked himself.
But even so, Tommy was relieved. He was relieved that at least Becca didn't really have a man around her. That was, the chance to attract Becca back was still great.
Tommy then went to buy a bouquet of white roses and took them to the salon where Becca was treated. It would make her curious again and wonder again. He didn't forget to slip an envelope in the seller's handwriting so that Becca wouldn't recognize him.
"Errr... hello," Tommy greeted the cashier.
"Yes, sir? How can I help you?"
"I want you to give this to Miss Rebecca. Don't tell who sent it or mention her characteristics. And here is a tip for you to keep this secret."
"Alright, sir. I'll give it to her."
"Thank you. I'll go."
Tommy came out of the salon and watched from afar. He had to make sure the flowers were delivered to Becca. And he knew that the flower had really reached his ex-girlfriend.
