CHAPTER 31

I opened my eyes in the middle of the night close to Kelvin who was still sleeping like a baby,somehow the looks on his face eased my tension because i was really scared and confused. I noticed an inconvenience  in my hand and when i looked at it it was the note i picked from the stool in my dream  "Gurreck"  i repeated the word in the note , what could be the meaning of the word i kept asking myself, i stood up from the bed and wore Kelvin's hairy robe , dipped my cold feet  in a pair of slippers just beside the bed, and went outside the temple to the back field, feeling lost as the cold familiar air around me messed with my hair. 

   I sat on a swing still repeating the word in d note i still had in my hand, i equally remembered what she had earlier said to me "you were not just born to save Bendugil, "Your father is somewhere out there and you need to find him". What exactly dose that really mean? I kept asking myself till my attention was drawn by a fire fly who came dancing at my face. I turned to catch it but it moved away from me and stopped again, it continued this same act till it finally caught my attention to the point it started leading me somewhere, i followed  it till i was standing directly in front of the door  leading to the secret world Kelvin had earlier warned me about, i looked down at my feet and saw the keys to the padlocks that locked the chains on the door. 

     I was nervous but i wanted to be there one more time, I unchained the door and opened it, I gave a peep into it and the place was a bit dark and peaceful , the birds were all asleep, all i could hear were the sounds of noisy crickets and the sounds of drunk toads. I walked into the enchanted place  putting on Kelvins black robe and a crop top that could be seen under blue shorts from his open robe. My long black hair was packed into a bun making the tiny necklace i had on my neck obvious , i looked around but the place was quiet and peaceful,my footsteps echoed wild and far. 

I brought out a gum from my pocket and began to chew, this place is beautiful how come nobody lives here, i said to myself and proceeded  into the open place. I became nervous and began to walk faster into the woods to know what was hidden within , in a feet of rush i collided with a young man biting my lips from the gum i was chewing by accident  

I am so sorry mister, i didn't see you coming.

     " sure Missy" he snarled, i could sense mischief , his dirty blonde  hair fell on his well sculptured face, i could  see blood stains at the corner of his lips and edgy teeth .

    obviously  he had feasted on someone  or something, well if i don't let my curiosity eat me any further maybe i could just pass by without  making  a scene.

      i felt brace hands  on my fist, "where do you think you are going to Missy" he said as he bore me with his eyes, i tugged my  hands  off him, i knew something  was wrong, this man had intentions of hurting me and i wasn't far from the truth. 

 He laughed out loud as bats flew out in their thousands from the dark woods, he brought out his fangs, very long and evil looking. He is a vampire i said within myself, how come i never knew him, i began to struggle with him till he injured me with his claws of a finger, he held me so tight and began to drag me on the ground into the woods.

     Kelvin !! With a loud scream i kept calling his name and crying, Kelvin save me i continued as i still struggled with him on the ground. I was a very strong and powerful vampire who had won thousands of wars, but how come i was suddenly too weak this time to loose off from an ordinary vampires grip i cried.

Back in the temple was Kelvin who had woken up from my scream, i wonder how he was so sensitive to pick my voice from afar. He started looking for me and  heard my voice again  from where i was being held captive. The vampire who held me  hostage tried to devour me but suddenly Kelvin had shown up from nowhere, he was strong enough looking like a dreadful beast and overpowered him. They fought till Kelvin got him injured and he fled into the woods. Kelvin was about following him when heard me groan in pains, he turned back and untied me and took me back to the temple carrying me on his arms. You look really hurt, what did he do to you? With the way Kelvin asked i knew he was angry and disappointed in me. 

         With a smile on my face, "thanks, you just saved my life I owe you one". I said looking straight into his eyes till i groaned in pain again as i looked down at my bleeding wrist. Come, we need to treat this Kelvin said still looking like he was disappointed but before i stood up it had already fixed itself because i was a vampire i turned to look at Kelvin but he angrily walked out on me.
