Celina Vacarelli's mind is still occupied by the events from the other night but she does not show it anymore. As the consigliere of the most powerful crime family, she always knows when to put aside personal matters. Despite her young age, her professionalism is what makes even Don Alessio respect her. She is 27, just two years older than Alessio.
"Yes," Celina responds to the Don after a moment of silence. "I believe we will know the exact location soon." Taking a moment to think, she continues, "Don Egidio is always unpredictable. I think we should take more precautions."
"What do you suggest?"
"Once we managed to know the location, let me go there in your place," the consigliere replies. "With the nature of Don Egidio, the risk is too high for you."
As the consigliere is the advisor to the Don, Alessio listens to Celina's advice most of the time. However, this is one of those rare moments when he thinks otherwise. "Is it any less risky for you?" He calmly asks Celina who sees through him right away.
"Don't compare me to you," she states, maintaining a calm composure and tone just like Alessio does. "You have to be fine for everyone to move forward."
"You once said that Don Egidio is most likely to be the mastermind behind that attack on my father," Alessio De Fazio calmly points out. "The upcoming meeting will be a great chance for us to prove that."
This is not the first time that the Don is willing to put himself at risk to find out the one behind that attack and it triggers Celina's deep concern. "That's too much of a risk," she argues. "You know very well that ever since that attack on your father and the policy of suppression against the other families, you have always been their main target. If we are not careful, you might end up walking inside their trap."
"With you and Elio around, I will be fine," Alessio simply says, finally making the consigliere lose her composure by frowning.
"This is not a light matter, Alex," she warns. "It concerns your safety."
"You know what my main goal is," the Don says. His calm voice grows firm when he continues, "To find the one behind that attack, I will stop at nothing."
The determination beneath Alessio's voice tells the consigliere that there is no more room for argument and like always, she knows when to back down. She can't stop him when it comes to this matter and hard as it is, she has to accept it.
"Once the location is confirmed, gather all our men from this country," Alessio says after noticing that Celina has decided to accept his decision. "I will confront Don Egidio and his allies with Elio. You will have to be on standby."
"Will Don Egidio fall for it?"
"He should," the Don says. "To not attract suspicion, I will bring some of our men and Elio will do the same. That means you will be nearby with the rest of our men." He pauses and then adds, "Remember. No matter what, Don Egidio should be captured alive. He should not die."
Sensing the Don's desire for the truth behind his father's assassination attempt, Celina Vacarelli nods her head. "I understand." She rises from her seat and narrows her gaze at Alessio, only to be reminded of that 'woman' from the other night. She wishes to ask him about her but... she cannot bring herself to do so.
Last night, she sensed how that woman named Alora affected Alessio though the latter tried his best not to show anything. Since then, Celina has been filled with curiosity.
Just who is that woman?
She has known Alessio ever since he came to Osmana with his mother. However, she has never seen him showing even the slightest interest in any woman. Even when spending time with the other Dons, Alessio De Fazio never let any woman near him, unlike his best friend who never stops playing around with women.
Despite this, she is often an exception and Celina knows it. Almost everyone in the De Fazio crime family knows the former Don's wish for his son and Celina to get married one day.
For Celina Vacarelli, what has always put her in a difficult situation is the fact that despite knowing his father's intention, Alessio has never agreed or rejected the marriage. This often makes her wonder where she should stand or where the line is drawn between them.
Fighting against her curiosity, Celina Vacarelli speaks up by saying, "I don't think you slept well last night. Have some more rest." With that said, she walks out of the room.
A while after Celina leaves, Loris enters the Don's room. Like Celina, the right-hand man had already noticed that his boss appeared more tired than usual. "You don't have anything on your schedule for today," he points out when he halts a few steps away from the Don. "I will inform you if there is anything new. So, please have some rest."
Alessio De Fazio quietly remains in his seat before he rises and walks to his table. There, he takes a pen and writes something on a paper which he hands over to Loris. "Let Marco look into her," he says. "I want to know everything about her, as fast as possible."
Loris is a bit surprised as it is his first time receiving such instruction from his boss. To look into some woman? Though he is a bit lost at first, he looks at the information his boss wrote and realizes that it is that woman from last time.
Alora McLean.
Even last time, Loris had noticed the effect that woman had on his boss. Since that encounter, his boss has been acting strange and even struggles to sleep more than he already does.
Just who is she?
Despite his curiosity, the right-hand man does not ask anything and responds, "I understand."
"As for you, you should assist Celina." The Don's instruction comes immediately. "I have already given her instructions for the meeting. Help her out in whatever way necessary."
Loris nods his head in response and asks, "Do you have any more instructions?"
A few seconds passed in silence before the Don said, "I have to go somewhere."
"I will prepare the car -"
"Give me the keys."
The right-hand man of the Don who is said to be as emotionless as his boss cannot stop himself from raising his brows this time. Just like the unusual instruction from before, what the Don currently demands is way out of his character. However, even a brief thinking is enough for Loris to know that it should not happen. It's not safe.
"Sir, we are yet to know all the movements of Don Egidio and his allies," Loris points out in what could be one of the very few moments when he does not comply with an order from the Don right away. "It's not safe to go out alone. Please think twice."
"I won't take long," Alessio simply argued in his usual calm voice but it is still enough for his trusted assistant to notice that he has made up his mind and that he won't budge. As such, Loris eventually hands over the car keys to him with reluctance.....
