Intertwined lives

"Do you have to go?" Song Zhilan asked as he saw Zoe standing at the door. It was time for her to leave but he was not ready to let her go.

"Major—"

"Will I see you again?" Song Zhilan asked, anxiously.

Zoe lowered her head as she had no answer to give to him. It would be better if she stayed quiet. She learned to keep quiet if she had nothing good to answer.

"God, Zoe, "Song Zhilan whispered as he pulled her for a hug. He inhaled her intoxicating scent and calmed himself. She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest. It felt so comfortable here that she didn't wish to break the hug. However, she had to. Her parents would be getting worried and she had to return to her home and her world. To see him again was like a dream come true.

He kissed her forehead after breaking the hug. Mustering up courage, he said, "Go. But don't even think of disappearing."

Zoe nodded her head, not daring to move at all.
