She Was Too Cunning

"You do not want.. What?" she looked back at him with confusion when Alice rolled her eyes at their overdramatic acts.

"He wants to go back and leave. He is.. A bit overwhelmed with the grandeur of the palace." she said without any emotions linked to it.

She was not having pity on him, nor was she mocking him. She just stated the plain truth freely without any burden that he always felt.

It forced him to stare at her. He was sure that if he kept looking, he would certainly find a hint of disgust but he found none.

She did not care for him but she was not annoyed with his strange behavior too and that was the best she could do for him.

It did not make him feel burdened too when he nodded. In fact, it made it easier for him as he was sure he would not be able to explain.
